There is untreated water every 6 miles or so as well as backpacking areas. Two Peak you will cross are Mission Peak and Rose Peak. You need a $2 permit to go past Mission Peak.”

“One of the best hikes to do in the bay area, total distance to the peak is about 3.4 miles. Beautiful throughout the year, parking is always a issue, especially weekends and holidays. Get there as early as possible to get parking. The trail get serious stranious in the middle and end section so plan according. The trail is good but very uneven, be sure to wear good footwear to avoid injuries. Sunrise is beautiful here if you can make it before 7am.”
