“Good fun for walking around and seeing all of the animals; Hart's Mansion is always interesting to look around in. After the self guided house tour, there was even a craft corner where kids could make a picture frame in the shape of a horse shoe for free. Staff was very friendly and made the experience all the more enjoyable!”

“Very good battleship to tour. So many spaces and wonderful underway and battle stories that come with it. This was very fascinating to see. I am a member of the US Coast Guard and i love it. The staff was very knowledgeable and nice. This is definitely for history buffs and kids that like to see military equipment, and boats.”

“It took us less than two hours to go through this small museum, but the three shows going on during our visit were thoughtfully chosen and presented. The curator(s) clearly cares about the community and has made an effort to showcase local artists; I was really impressed by the art and the innovative way the staff used the small space and resources. While we visited, there was a class of young students (kindergarten?) enjoying a field trip. I couldn't help eavesdropping on the docent; I enjoyed listening to her guiding the students through the exhibits and inviting them to look at and think about the art in different ways. The museum has a second floor and a basement, where a children's activity room and the restrooms are located; happily, they have an elevator to accommodate visitors with mobility issues. Do go outside to see the plastic seal sculpture next to the education building. The cafe in the back is a pleasant place to while away an hour before walking out to the beach.”

“Add this unique destination to your L.A. trip! My wife studied Interior Design for her bachelor's degree so this was her favorite part of our L.A. trip. Also, I do like that this is less of a touristy spot. I recommend getting here early for great shots without any "extras". ????”

“I was actually riding my bike in the area. I was able to go up the San Gabriel river to the top of the Angeles Crest. Wow!!! What a great ride. Even the ride within the park was pretty cool too. Dirt or pavement, it's still a great ride.”

“Last time has visited I had a private interview with Ray Eames. So different going to it years later. I like how knowledgeable and accessible the docents are. Just spectacular setting of ocean view property if the old original Will Rogers Ranch property with several case study houses so built there. An architects must go to place”

“City of Long Beach did a really good job of filling this walkway with native plants and wildflowers. Great place to walk pets or have a short, quiet, contemplative walk. Unlike the Red Car Beltway this walkway is not paved, so it is inappropriate for skateboards or skates.”

“Hurst Ranch is an historic location. One of the original ranches in San Gabriel Valley. Can be rented out for weddings and events. It will be open again to the public again in October for its Fall Festival. This is event is the perfect opportunity to experience life on the ranch. Kids and I go every year and just ???? it.”

“Great place to spend the day. The tour is worth the wait, and the staff is very friendly. I was surprised something like this existed right in the middle of Long Beach. They have something for everyone. If you like history, you’ll be thrilled. If you like walking through beautiful gardens, they have several for you to spend the day walking through. They usually have horses although they weren’t there on the days I toured unfortunately. He house itself is quite interesting and beautiful, however you have to go in a tour with a group. No matter what you like I think you will have a great day if you tour this ranch.”

“What a shame the property and immediate area are so overdeveloped. Dont get me wrong, i LOVE many of the shops and restaurants around here, i just think there's too many housing developments, and maybe that car dealership could have been located elsewhere so Oakridge and the property next door could be as they used to. Plus I guessnthe stables and racetrack are gone from here, which is a shame. Still, we are very fortunate that this beautiful mansion and grounds still exist at all! It's just breathtakingly beautiful! They really knew how to build 'em in those days!”

“Small local museum with interesting information on the history of the city of Duarte. Saw a wildlife presentation there. Fun fact I learned about the area.... Glen Miller lived in Duarte back in his day. They called it Tuxedo Junction. Those of you familiar with his music know there was a song they played by the same name. Evidently it was the place to be back then.”
