“The campgrounds are clean. We did RV camping. It was not full service. They had water to fill up and dump station. It was $20.00 per night. We took our two dogs, they must be on leashes. We had a great experience for our first time. We enjoy the fact you can camp RV and tents on the same area. They have drive through camping sites for boats also. There is an additional fee of $11.00 for parking at the Lake for the day.”

“This was small campground in ,1960's, trail goes to upper shake ( both named because it sits on Fault Line). Upper Shake was great quiet campground. Closed now, but where I camped many times w my Dad. Ah, memories..”

“I've been here about a dozen times. Some nice views, right along the PCT, has fire pits, and a vault toilet AND picnic tables. Sometimes it can be windy. We brought extra rations of soda and snacks for the thru hikers (I believe this spot is around mile 500 from Mexico, on the way to Canada). I was camping in my roof top tent when a bear came through a few of the camps, so you'll want to be aware of that. I had a cooler WITH NO FOOD just plastic water bottles, and the bear still bit into the cooler probably from previous experience assumed food was in there, but it wasn't a big scare or anything. I had heard the bear has been through camp before. I take my 2 and 5 year olds with me each time I camp and they love the area.”

“Love the dog park. My dogs love it. We go several times a week. There can be some "know it all" dog owners there who love to tell you how to handle "your" dog. If you can ignore and avoid them, then your dogs will thank you. Could use more benches and some more trees.”

“I was happily surprised with how the fields had numbers on each goal, so you knew you were at the correct field. And they have a site map as you come in the parking lot so you know where your field is. There is way more parking than needed, but this is a great thing. The only reason I didn't give five stars is, I didn't use a bathroom to tell how clean it was, or try the snack shack.”

“Good trail for a broad spectrum of cyclists. The grades aren't steep nor is it technical so beginners should feel comfortable. More advanced riders can work on cornering techniques. The corners can be a lot of fun. Always be aware of hikers and up hill riders. There are a lot of blind corners.”

“I love this place. First of all you have to understand that there are not many plants that can survive the desert heat in the summer and the desert cold in the winter. But these guys have just about everything that can and they are incredibly knowledgeable and generous with their time. I feel bad that I didn't even buy anything. I was just on an exploration mission and nevertheless the owner was very patient and kept checking in on me. Thank you”

“A great day trip location. Day use for visitors, boaters or picnics, this is a great nature getaway. Lots of boaters go here. Bring your own for rent a boat there. Bring your own provision and spend the day on the water, fishing or enjoying the amazing mountain and lake views. There are fees so bring cash. It is also wise to get there early if you plan on a weekend excursion, especially in the spring and fall seasons.”
