“A pretty place to visit. This property is part of the State Park system, and we were surprised to stumble on it. A former resort hotel, this property was reached by a small gauge railroad. Hiking trails with interpretive signage cris-cross the steeply inclining property. Great views of the bay below. Plenty of parking.”

Sky Trailhead

Address: Point Reyes Station, CA 94956, USA

Park

“I hiked this trail to the Pacific. It's a little over 8 miles round trip, so we took our time and did it in a little over 3.5 hours. There's about 1000 feet of elevation gain and loss, and there's no water along the way so be prepared. Trail is narrow and often blocked by down trees, so this is not a good option for children or the mobility impaired. Highlights are deep Forrest and wildlife and not seeing anyone else until the beach.”

Laguna Trailhead

Address: Fire Lane Tr, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956, USA

Park

“The trails around here are generally amazing. I like the Muddy Hollow trail little more than this one however”

Mount Burdell Preserve

Address: Novato, CA 94945, USA

Park

“Love this hike. Today it was nice and muddy and some of the streams we're flowing high. Just be careful crossing some of the more faster deeper streams after a long rain. Mount Burdell has many different paths to take and the views are always fun to check out. Multiple paths means different times to finish. This hike will not disappoint. Parts get a little slippery / Rocky. Keep Dogs on leash. Cattle are usually present. Every know and then you will see a snake.”

“Beautiful hike or bicycle ride to Coast Camp at the Point Reyes National Seashore. Park at the hostel for either the 2 mi hike or 3 mile bike ride. Although just a few sights have distant ocean views, the lovely sound of the waves on the shore can be heard from all campsites. Enclosed pit toilets, picnic table, small raised cooking grill, metal bear box, and accessible potable running water are all closeby. Bring steel wool to stuff in holes in food locker to keep mice out.”

Millerton Point

“Really enjoyed this little spot. Has a bathroom and a quick path to get down to the water. The water was surprisingly very warm and was comfortable to get into though beware of the slimy sand. Went kayaking and got to see the abandoned ship across the way. Will return went it's not as breezy not sure if it's always breezy in the area.”

Dogbone Meadow

Address: 3015 Novato Blvd, Novato, CA 94947, USA

Park

“This is a great park. Unfortunately there are people who never look up to watch their dogs. I picked up one corner and had 5 bags of big dog poop that no one seemed to notice. There was a lot more. If you are able to bring your dog to the park you should be able to pick up after them. If you can’t watch and have control over your dog, don’t bring them, or bring a helper or ask for help. If your dog is possibly a danger to another dog they do not belong in the park without a muzzle. If you are a dog walker you are being paid to walk the dogs, not bring them to a park where everyone else has to watch their dogs. At least come at a time when there are not a lot of dogs in the park.”

Ohair Park

Address: Novato, CA 94947, USA

Park

“Very well kept dog park. Dogs are fairly well behaved and most owners monitor their pets. I like the separation for the gentle dog section. My old tripod sometimes needs a break from the rowdy dog on dog interactions and still have the space to chase his toys.”
