Heisler Park

Address: 375 Cliff Dr, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, USA

Park

“The park offers a stunning visual display as it sits atop the steps leading down to the beach. The view from this spot is truly breathtaking and beautiful. It's a vantage point that shouldn't be missed, almost rivaling the experience of trekking to a summit, but without the physical effort. As you descend towards the beach, words can hardly capture its beauty. Although we visited on a weekend and encountered large crowds, it was still an incredibly enjoyable experience.”

Oak Knoll Garden

Address: McGwire Rd, Ladera Ranch, CA 92694, USA

Park

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting my oak Knoll Garden in Ladera Ranch, and I must say, it's a true hidden gem in the community! I feel incredibly fortunate to have access to such a beautiful and well-maintained public garden. The moment I stepped into Heritage Garden, I was immediately captivated by its serene and picturesque surroundings. The lush greenery, vibrant blooms, and thoughtfully designed pathways create a tranquil oasis where one can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It was great to see what people are growing, from sun flowers to zucchini. Can not wait to come back.”

Santa Ana River Trail- mile marker sixteen

Address: Santa Ana River Trail Bikeway, Orange, CA 92865, USA

Park

“The Santa Ana River Trail mile marker sixteen is a point to remember! With the Steve Ambriz Memorial Park just a block away, it’s a back way spot into the park on foot or by bike, as well as a passage point of reference from the park and homes of the Riverbend Community, via the paths and trails. The Google Maps satellite view shows the paved park path extended past the gate and to mile marker 16. From the bike trail, the spot can be found by the spillway step along the Santa Ana River, just south of the Glassell Street bridge. It’s also next to the massive dirt mound at the RJ Noble Company, a bit north of the Lincoln Blvd Bridge. It’s always nice to stop off here and enjoy the views! The natural landscape is accentuated by the mountain views to the north. I like to see the Santa Ana River beside the trail after a storm, as the downhill water can actually form a rapids! Photo’s posted were taken safely, just before the rains, as the conditions may cause closures! While the bike path marker does little else than mark the spot, I wish there were more of a reference to the park nearby. I know as a bike rider, runner and hiker, it’s always nice to find public places to take a break, off the beaten path!”

“Friendly staff. Woman owned park! It’s a small community and everyone is very friendly. Of all parks I’ve stayed at, I super loved the feeling of community here. The wash room is fast and convenient. Location is amazing. Great ocean breeze. A little ‘old school’ with the keys and garage doors openers, and hand written correspondence, but I actually appreciated all of these touches after a few days there. You really feel like family or a community here. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. ❤️Manager is named Nancy or Linda, I believe. She was such a sweetheart! ❤️❤️ The owner is a very direct and friendly woman — and that is very much appreciated! Love this place!”

The mini beach entry is only to the north park club members. This park is between the apartments. Talega Park

Address: Talega Park, 179 Corte Cristianitos, San Clemente, CA 92673, USA

“Nice San Clemente park. Decent play structures for toddlers and grade school age kids. Nice covered picnic area. Bathrooms are usually pretty clean. Decent parking. Baseball field doubles as a nice big open grass area next to the park when there's not a little league game or practice going on. There's a nice walking path that goes up from the park too along a long greenbelt. The only bad thing is there's horrible cell reception here.”

“Very nice, well kept park with low traffic and a clean younger kid’s playground! 🛝”

Anaheim Wetlands

Address: 8500 E La Palma Ave, Yorba Linda, CA 92887, USA

Park

“Great trails. From the beginning of the trail, the bushy and tall trees provide plenty of shade and cool air. Not many people on the trails. It's kind of small. As we walk pass under the overpass bridge, the river bank on the left becomes an open space with lots of sunlight and wind. The right side leads to a well maintained, beautiful park with lots of shade. Street parking.”

Peralta Canyon Park

Address: 115 N Pinney Dr, Anaheim, CA 92807, USA

Park

“Beautiful, peaceful park with lots of handicapped-accessible parking spaces and walkways. The park includes a basketball court, baseball diamond, large fields for flying kites, and big shady trees for picnics. The barbecue and table area is very nice as well, (although it is roped off/unaccessible temporarily due to the pandemic). Parking is close to the tables so it's easy to unload for parties, picnics, etc. The park also includes a public restroom and a children's playground area. Lots of dog-walkers are there in the evening, which is nice - although a lot of them are off leash, which can be frustrating. The park is located between an elementary school and a beautiful, safe, little neighborhood. All in all, it's a great place to visit.”

San Carlo Park

Address: 15 San Carlo, Irvine, CA 92614, USA

Park

“Relaxing and wide open field that is big enough for multiple groups of people to play sports or play fetch with their dogs. Recommend bringing a hat on a sunny day as trees provide shade only on the outskirts of the park.”

Mabury Park

Beach City Dog Camp

Address: 17970 Magnolia St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, USA

Park

“We recently moved to the area from west LA where our dog had been going to daycare since he was a small puppy. He loved his old daycare and we were nervous about finding a place he liked just as much. We tried four other daycares that he didn't care for before we found Beach City. It only took a few days before he was running to the door in excitement to go to play camp. The trainers are so friendly and really seem to give the dogs a lot of individual attention. And he's made so many doggy friends.”

Discovery Well Park

Address: 6720 Summit Dr, Huntington Beach, CA 92648, USA

Park

“Discovery Well Park is a rather large 6.60 acre park settled between neighborhoods near shopping. 🚻🚫No restrooms so plan accordingly if you don't live nearby 🐕 This park is ideal to bring your dogs to 🧺 Lots of benches and tables for picnics scattered in various areas of the park which could be perfect for a socially distanced outdoor event. 🏞 Large grassy areas 🏀 1 Basketball court Parking in the lot or on the street in abundance. You will also find 2 large playground sections mostly covered with rubber matting on the ground but there is a large section that is dedicatedto a sand pit. The playground section, has one smaller unit intended for ages 2-5 years has 2 slides and various climbing entrances. 2 swings for bigger kids and 2 infant seats. A few wavy rocks for climbing in the center of the playground area, and a larger playground. The larger playground unit is intended for children 5-12 years old. “Vista park is awesome park with a great view of the Huntington beach. There's a gang of squirrels around all over the place. Pretty neat to see them running around getting close to you. This is a good place for a quick picnic better on the weekdays. Weekends are moderately full bit you should be good.”

Crystal Cove State Park Tunnel

Address: Laguna Beach, CA 92651, USA

Park

“Easy walk from the parking lot to the beach through the tunnel. The couple times we have been here, there has been water in the tunnel so expect to have to walk through it. It appears it fills up during the evening from the high tide and slowly drains during the day. The water is pretty clean and actually helps clean the sand off on the way back to the parking lot. If you don't want to get your feet wet because you want to take a stroll along the beach or something, I would avoid this route. Otherwise, it is fine. There are restrooms and showers here. The beach is beautiful and is a part of Crystal Cove State Park. Walk about half mile north along the beach and you will find tide pools, which are fun to explore. We camped at Moro Campground twice now, which is just above the parking lot to the tunnel. Because we got there prior to early check-in time for the campground, we went ahead and paid for the day pass to access the parking lot. The day pass that day was $15 and couple be used at any of the state parks. There are other hiking trails to the wilderness area from this parking lot.”
