Caswell Memorial State Park

Beautiful park, but the dumpsters were piled high. Also, be wary of #50 during the month of July. It is the only site I saw (mine) with a tree of paradise, and its attendant bugs that feed on that specific tree for one month during fruiting/seed dropping. They are harmless but everywhere, and kinda weird as they love traveling in the same direction. Freaky. Staff was nice and sites were big and spaced out.

Love this place. Great place to take the dogs on leash for a day walk. Parked in day parking lot and walked the paved trails to campgrounds and back. Explored the picnic grounds. Dogs are only allowed on the paved roads and picnic areas. Lots of shade, and plenty to walk.
Beautiful and well maintained. Rangers and campground host were all very nice.

Great hiking trails, camp and picnic grounds. Large towering trees shade many of the paths, making it nice to walk in hot weather. Pretty views of the river. The only drawback was the bugs. Don't forget your bug spray or you will be itching for days. Closed shoes recommended.

Good for a visit. Only costs $12 to get in, they have some BBQs and picnic tables. Easy access to the river to float on. Definitely worth the money to spend a day hanging out and swimming. Plenty of shade, decent parking. Easy access to the river to float down. 100% will go to again
