“Mexico Viejo is an awesome gem among the sea of many taco shops here in San Diego. It doesn't particularly stand out in any one item/ dish, but what it does do is provide a lot of value for your hard earned dollar. There is however, one stand out item that I firmly believe should be a measuring stick for all taco shops which is their salsa. If the salsa is terrible or rather bland, I feel it sets the tone for the rest of your meal. Here at Mexico Viejo they do not disappoint, especially their red roja salsa. It is nice and picante with quite a bit of heat. And I do love my heat. For the value meal that will fill you up go for the bean and cheese burrito and some rice inside the burrito. If you're looking for something. Crunchy with also added value. Give the five roll tacos a shot. They used to be five bucks but due to COVID and all of its fall out the prices have gone up. Just a tad. All in all, Mexico Viejo is a solid value with good taste. I'm sure you will find something to your liking and not break the bank”

She is so knowledgeable about everything on the menu and so personable. She made the whole dinner that much more fantastic. We had two different rissotos as well as the steak with wild mushrooms. They were all so very delicious! The mimosa flights were amazing and it was hard to just pick 4 flavors as there are so many awesome options. “Update We returned this evening for dinner and Tammy was our server again.. Great smile, personality and customer service. My wife had a Don Julio Blanco and soda with 3 limes and I ordered a cup of broccoli cheddar soup which was so so good.. Then the entrees as my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala and I had the California Melt recommended by Dalton another amazing server and great recommendation. The entertainment was superb and we enjoyed the time and the ambiance with a view of the golf course.. Highly recommended and guess what they serve and amazing breakfast menu as well.. Check them out.. 4/3/2022 Great find and nice time. The wife and I decided to head to Ramona a few days after my surgery and we had a late lunch at Oaks Grill which was fantastic. First of all they have a terrific menu and amazing service. Yes, Tammy and Jericho were stellar and quite attentive and informative. The drinks were thirst quenching delights and the starter salad fresh and tasty. My wife had the smashburger with delightful sweet potato fries and I had the chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and asparagus...oh baby...so so good. The view, the ambiance, the array of food choices and the service are all worthy of praise and mention. We highly recommend and will certainly be back. Kudos to the staff and management on a finely tuned, well run and apparently successful restaurant and get this, they have entertainment on Thursday evenings. Go and check it out....”

“Excellent course. Was in fantastic shape. Greens were fast and challenging. Friendly staff. GRASS RANGE! Let us out 40min early since there were some openings (and this was on a Sunday). Pace of play was great as we never even saw group in front of us. Played at 4hrs 19min. 6.2 mile walk (a couple long stretches between green and next tee). First couple holes on the back could be trouble for anyone fighting a slice (there’s a road that runs parallel). Will definitely be putting this course in our regular rotation this winter.”

“Jersey Mikes Subs inside Camp Pendleton Bases is the perfect spot for a quick bite while on base! First and foremost, this establishment has moved from its old location in the base to a new one. Previously, it was located nearby the gas station, now it is located inside the same building as the MCX. With that said, the store is exactly how you would expect. You enter, you order, you see your sub (or food being made), then you leave. Due to COVID, there is not dine-in capabilities but there are plenty of outdoor dining area just outside the MCX. This particular location really gives good portions for your orders. They do not try to shortchange you whenever you order bacon etc. Customer service is also decent, they are busy and they are obviously trying to serve you as fast as they can with a smile but over the service is decent. The prices are what you would normally expect from any other location, though I think since this is on the Camp Pendleton base, there is not tax upon payment. The parking lot is plentiful, even though it shares a parking lot with the MCX and other business nearby, but you will definitely have a parking spot. Overall, this location is pretty good! I am sure to return since it is convenient and delicious. Give it a try!”

“My husband and I married and held our reception here back in 2014. We had looked at 7 venue locations prior to seeing this one. The moment I saw this I was stunned. It’s was so beautiful and perfect. From the Bay lawn to the huge formal Spanish dinning room. My favorite was the massive Spanish ceiling and tile fire place. It’s a hidden gem. Not only was it the best location but the least expensive since it was on the base. The weather was perfect on our wedding day and ceremony was outside on the lawn facing the beautiful bay. The pre- reception was on outdoor the patio. And the reception was held inside. Everything went great. The only down side was the service. They ran out of food. This explains the four stars instead of five. Normally, 10-20 % of guests that RSVP do not show up. However, I stayed on top of my guests count just a few days before the wedding. So all but 1 guest showed. Not something venues expect. So with that said, they didn’t order enough food. Some portions were much smaller then others on the plates. But regardless everyone had a great time and the venue was stunning. If anyone were to ask me if I would have another event there the answer would be yes. But I would definitely reiterate ordering enough food for the number of guests.”
