My wife and I sailed on this boat yesterday for the Day Sail trip. First off I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this!!!

We boarded USA 76, motored from the dock towards the cruise ship docks while we readied and raised the jib and main. At that point the motor was shut off - this is a true sailing experience, not a motor/sail party barge! We then tacked across/around Alcatraz and on out of San Francisco Bay beneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Since this was only a 2 1/2 hour trip we gybed before reaching Hawaii :) , did a downwind run back under the Bridge, along Fisherman's Wharf, and back to the area of the cruise ship terminals to drop sails and motor back to the dock at Pier 39. The whole trip offers stunning views of the San Francisco Bay waterfront, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge (both sides and beneath!).

Along the way the crew of 3 utilized all who wanted to help (18 passengers) in the various tasks needed to sail a boat of this caliber (operating the coffee grinders, tailing winches, raising / lowering / bagging sails, and even steering)! While participation is not mandatory it is allowed and encouraged (it definitely adds to the experience in my mind if you are really "into it"). For those who would prefer to remain on sightseeing and porpoise / sea lion lookout those positions are available as well!

Racing on the Bay at sunset. My gps said we were sailing over thirteen miles per hour. What a rush. We were allowed to pilot the boat too! All the crew were friendly, helpful and very safety conscious. BTW we won.

This boat is an excellent ride on the San Frqncisco Bay. We went out with them and we loved the experience. I highly recommend it. They let you participate in several of the tasks required to sail the vessel. They launch out of Pier 39 which is an experience all in itself. Come and see for yourself. It is reasonably priced.

This amazing vessel is the most recently retired, and available yacht to enjoy sailing that had America’s Cup contention not long ago. This is an amazing day out on the water, made even more special with the practice of the Blue Angels on the day we went out.

The crew is friendly and knowledgeable, they knew every boat that was out on the water and gave thoughtful and insightful commentary when you approached them. They give you the opportunity to crank the wenches, steer the carbon fiber wheel (it’s really responsive!), and ask questions whenever you have them. Plus, they don’t act like jungle cruise leaders at theme parks, they let the majesty and beauty of the Bay speak for itself. A truly enjoyable experience in the San Francisco Bay was had by all on board!
