“We absolutely LOVED this campground. We were very fortunate to get a campground for a second night, as we made a last minute decision to stay. The bathrooms were convenient and clean, we we're about 100 ft from the ocean; perfect for watching the sun come up and set. Not sure I want to camp anywhere else, now that we've been spoiled by Francis Beach.”

Half Moon Bay State Beach

Address: 95 Kelly Ave, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019, USA

Park

“It was grey, windy & the waves were menacing! However, it could never NOT be amazing- the ocean is a sound reminder of how small we are.. I would definitely come back, especially if I were able to enjoy the outdoors. There were lots of tables and many various viewing vantage points. There is a $10 fee- for your reference. I think it is worth it, especially if you can make it a longer day experience.”

Ravenswood Pond SF2

“Last exit when going towards Fremont from Menlo Park, just before getting on the Dumbarton bridge. Excellent place for bird photography. You can see various bird species here and can shoot some candid shots of birds trying to catch fishes in the pond. The hike itself is in and back, very short around one mile in total.”

“Nice park close to the city. You can take decent hikes here that are not too strenuous. It can be good all seasons but especially spring time the lush green is very nice. The visitor center has some botanical and historical facts. There is well-maintained bathroom at visitor center. Parking is usually not an issue.”

“Loving the off-leash dog area! It is better than our local dog park. Parking is an issue but you can always wait or park by the street. A restroom is available to use - it is okay, clean and tolerable to use. Bring your poop bag and dispose it properly. Don’t leave it in the park. No trash service here too.”
