“I can’t say enough good things about IRA. Before joining, I had only done a bit of English as a kid and Western occasionally on vacations. I’ve now been riding here for a few months and have taken a variety of weekly lessons both private and adult group classes. The location is beautiful, the instructors are knowledgeable, and there are a variety of horses. Above all else the instructors and stable hands are so kind. I have severe anxiety and Lisa, Olga, and others have been patient and accommodating. Whether you want to be a championship rider or are more interested in having fun like me, they truly care about everyone who rides there. Relevant COVID info: everyone wears a mask walking around the stables, and apart from the restrooms everything is outdoors. You can pull your mask down when riding but that’s fine as you’ll be so far apart from anyone else (20 feet or so). It’s a great way to get outside, learn something new, and stay safe.”

“I had a great experience riding the horses with Shannen. This is my first time ever riding a horse and my cousin convinced me to come with her to try it out. It was not as scary as I thought it would be, Shannen was very patient and made sure the horses pace never went past my comfort zone. She also made sure to walk next to me until I felt comfortable to ride the horse "alone". At the end, she even allowed me to help bathe them which I found very fun. Thanks for the experience Shannen!”

Not only is it a great barn community the training is excellent. They help riders and horses develop to achieve their goals each year! I love being apart of this barn and really enjoy practicing on my well schooled horse and work on bringing on my 6 year old! The facility is wonderful too as there is multiple rings, cross country field, a track and trails with hiIls to work the horses to help their fitness and keep it interesting! I would highly recommend this program if you want to develop as a competitive hunter/equitation/jumper rider and/or a horse!”

“What a wonderful experience! Each day was full of great weather, astounding views and interesting history while traveling by local train, ferry, city bus, funicular or cable car. Most days there were several changes of trains to navigate which only kept the days fun and interesting. Rene’s knowledgeable expertise in travel planning and execution was perfect. He and Suzanne were excellent guides who were easy to talk to and enjoy during the trip. They were like sheep dogs who kept us safe and on track. Rene’ consistently asked our group questions, listened and responded. Their choices for hotels and included dining were well beyond our expectations. Days were full of activity. Remember to pack your hiking boots and trekking poles. The only thing we would change would be to include one or two free afternoons to relax and enjoy the hotel and area shops.”
