It was a great experience hiking this place. It was quaint and meditative hiking this trail alone.
The trail is about 2 miles consisting of trees, bushes, couple of creeks in between and a gravel bed. No big scenics, until we hit a few mounds of rocks. The almost 2 miles hike was worth it after seeing these rocky hills.
There was a smell of some sort of herbs or something in the entire trail that was therapeutic.
So Much Water and Streams, Beautiful Breathtaking Views and Winter Colors, Had a Awesome Time, highly recommended for a Unique Nature Walk Experience
Decently trafficked trail. First week of November and the river was completely dry, so if you go late in the year, do not rely on that to be your only water source. Willet hot springs was beautiful, and we used the water at the bottom of the hill for boiling/filtering for cooking/drinking. We decided not to hike to Sespe due to the lack of water sources.
The pictures don’t quite show the full beauty of the landscape. But this beautiful site is less than an hour from Ventura, just a few minutes past Rose Valley Falls.
The trail is well marked at some points and not so much at others. This was an awesome, intermidiate level trail. You cross streams, get some fantastic vistas, and when there is no one on the trail you get some incredible silence. The hike gets steep in certain places, the rock on the ground don't help. By you should be able to make it to the rocks within 20 minutes. Take lots of water and watch out for the wildlife.
