Rosewood Trail Trailhead

Address: 398 Regal Oak Ct, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320, USA

Park

“This is coming from a non-hiker's perspective. It climbs 450' while covering 2 miles up and 2 back so I ran out of breath every so often but made it down with no breaks. The trail is well defined and wide enough for 2 side by side. Fairly safe. The only exception were bike riders use the trail too. Probably too much for a first hike for someone like me, but I could see that a regular hiker could find it enjoyable with many vista points.”

Lynn Oaks Park

Address: 359 Capitan St, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, USA

Park

“There is a standard (mile)track but it's Only two adult side by side capacity. The layout is awesome. Upper layer has kids jungle gym & a trail into the hills. I don't like the fenced trail. Probably due to wild animals. So it is safe. There are bobcats, mountain lions, racoons. No bears! Hot and dry. Take water for yourself & your pet please! Have fun!”

Los Robles Trail

Arroyo Conejo Open Space

Address: Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, USA

Park

“The creeks are gentle and very soothing. The sound of the water alone is a very calming and relaxing thing. It only helps emphasize the already peaceful and healthy atmosphere. The air here is crisp and moist. The trees are elegant and magnificent. The view is awe inspiring. The hills are rich in detail, and the stream is a natural masterpiece in of its own right. Even the man made and woman made structures here give off an authentic vibe. I highly recommend this trail because it truly has it all.”

Wildwood Neighborhood Park

Address: 650 W Avenida De Los Arboles, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, USA

Park

“I do not know of the man named Alex "Bulldog", but it definitely sounds like he was a great individual that has quite a backstory about his life. And yet, all that remains is his bench. When I look at such things, I feel that such individuals have made a positive impact on the world around them, and they will forever be missed by their loved ones. He worked tirelessly on that one bench and it shows. He must have been a wonderful person in life and now he will be remembered as a legend in death. It is sights like these that truly inspire me to do great things as well.”

Los Robles Open Space

“The Los Robles Open Space is a great trail head. You can hike, bike and ride a horse in this open space. The trails are mostly without shade so you should bring plenty of water. They do not have fountains or water spigots. Hikers share the trails with mountain bikers so be vigilant. Most mountain bikers have bells on their bikes to warn you that they are coming and most of them are courteous.”

Spring Meadow Park

Address: 3283 Spring Meadow Ave, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, USA

Park

“This park was updated in 2017 with several fitness stations and a playground along the 1/3 mile paved path that circles the park. The fitness stations include elevated bars for arm walking, and low bars for hopping over, as well as abdominal training fixtures. The exercises are based on resistance from one's own body weight. There are also croquet and basketball courts. The playground offers something for kids of various ages grouped from 2-5 and 5-12 years. You can also download mobile apps to use in tandem with playing on the playground. There are signs posted with instructions. There are several picnic tables and built-in grills spread around the perimeter of the park. Use of the courts and picnic areas is on a first-come first-served basis. There is a creek that runs down the center of the park that contains water after it rains, and there are tall trees along the creek that offer shade. There is a large grassy area in the center of the park where football, soccer or frisbee can be played. If you're in the area, I recommend you visit it.”
