“Such a great little park. Its close to the street which offers ease getting in and out of the car and it has a fence around it which is nice for keeping the kids from running into it. It's a sand based park with play equipment, swings and a spinning merry- go-round style ride. There are public restrooms. There is a large grass area and sports fields. Rainbow bridge park is just behind it but there is no access when school is in session. The park is clean and in a nice area. It feels safe and peaceful.”

“Really beautiful place. Today after the rain there were so many different species of birds. A little hidden spot that's really worth it. The walking is pretty flat so it is a good place for those looking for a gentler, easier walk. However, it is not really wheelchair accessible.”

“This campround is one of a kind, at 7000 ft this was one hell a hike. I I started my one-night backpacking trip at the Chorro grande trailhead down off the 33, I ascended through typical chaparrel that turns into switchbacks up the steep mountain. It eventually turns to a conifirous forest and ends on the paved Reyes peak campround. The campground has amazing views that span the Ventura coast and back towards the Cuyama Badlands.”

“35$ a night typical camping rates. Close to nearly private beaches. We got here late, around 1:30 on a Saturday and there was still around 10 spots to choose from. There's clean flushing toilets and hot showers for 50 cents for 2 minutes. So far so good. There's a ton of dumpsters close by so for us, that was a plus. No bugs or scary wildlife to worry about. The neighbors were friendly and all felt safe. Overall, I really liked this campground. Mostly it was because of how clean the bathrooms were. They get a daily cleaning at around 6am and smell like bleach. Only thing that was a negative was there was no water spickets to get washing water for dishes. Otherwise a very cool place to camp.”

“The Mandalay beach area is a nice area for enjoying a day at the beach. The area has a lot of parking and a lot of space. There is a short 10 minute walk between the park and the beach. Mandalay Beach is a beautiful stretch of beach facing the Channel Islands. It is rarely crowded and offers a beautiful beach walk around the beach and the neighboring Embassy Suites. Not much in the way of facilities however.”

“Great area, from the playground to the water. Great long park with a ton of grass, and plenty of sand to the water too. The area reminds me of BuenaVentura Beach with the small hills to go over from the parking lot to the water. They have a concrete pathway that leads you all the way to a good depth into the beach sand. Between the sand hills there are spots you can stay in that are a tiny bit secluded and slanted too.”

“This is my all-time favorite place to camp! It's also a doggie paradise; be prepared for local dogs to occasionally wander up and say hi! The campsite is as remote as you can get for car camping. It's like 20 miles away from anything...except for the bar & grille (and cluster of cabins) about 1/4 mile from the camp's entrance! You can get ice there, as well as great food and drink (and, hopefully, a head's up if a wildfire breaks out in the area!). The bar generally caters to bikers and other people who would prefer to party 20 miles away from civilization...but I grew up around bikers, so I don't have any kind of problem with this. They were all super nice, and half of the people there had dogs to greet mine. I camped there over Halloween, and while there was a bash going on at the bar, we couldn't hear anything at all at our campsite, other than the creek. Site 17 is my favorite; it's far back, yet close to a toilet, and close to the creek. There is a site closer to the creek, but this site seems bigger...and I've had bobcats come through my site when camping by other creeks, so I prefer the extra space, haha. I hope to camp here at least once a year!”

“Beautiful here after the rain we've had. Green everywhere with flowers. Note: the flowers and green are not year round. Play structure is made for much younger kids. 1-4 maybe. Would be nice if there was one for kids 5 and up.”

“Nice little historic spot here in Ventura, roam the grounds of this well preserved Adobe home and learn about life living there in the old days. They offer tours on certain days or you can go anytime and read the information signs throughout the property. Very interesting.”

“Great place. But we know this as the "kiddie beach" The reason for the name is because there are no waves due to the rocks on either side breaking the Waves. Great place to bring your kids however it can get packed during warm weather. There are also showers on the side. this beach can get pretty packed compared to the other side of the rocks which is silverstrand Beach.”
