“I went on New Year's Eve, and heard a gunshot ring out around 10pm. I could smell the gun smoke. Then I was awakened promptly at midnight by the sound of celebratory bullets. I've only heard about that. So that gives you a sense of the type of neighborhood this hotel is nestled in. The room itself was clean and did the job. The appliances all worked and there were no unpleasant surprises. You get what you pay for. I will say the Ac units are VERY effective. It got so hot in there I could have made it into a sauna if I'd just run the heater & hot water together.”

“Clean, quiet, affordable. When I say clean, I don't mean sparkling, I mean you can sleep at night and not have to worry about any type of pest or critter creeping about your space. The rooms are dated, but clean. Which is very rare to find. And it's not just covered up made to look clean. The property is obviously very well maintained. It's been peaceful, haven't had any problems with the staff, other guests, or even location noise. And the size of the room! The 2 bedroom suite is EXTREMELY spacious. Very generous storage available in the alcove before the restroom. And the mini fridge has a SEPARATE freezer portion, which I think is just too cool. An actual mini freezer:) would definitely recommend and will for sure stay here again.”

“I had a memorable experience with my host family! They were very welcoming and friendly. My host mother took me to Stanford University before school started and showed me around the Cantor Arts Center and also part of the campus. She also showed me the bus stop I needed to take for school. Both of my host parents also prepared me dinner at least 5 days a week. During dinner time, my host father "educated" me about sports especially in America and I shared him stories and facts about my country in return. This is a brief picture of my experience and I cannot speak for all host families or give a "perfect picture" of what's it like living with a host family. “I have been staying at this location for a while now and I can affirmatively say it’s the best motel 6 in the area. The staff here is always available, friendly, helpful and super cool. Cassie the manager is amazing. She handles problems the moment she is aware of them and she is always on point. She works hard to make sure the area stays safe and her guests are taken care of. Alex the assistant manager is also the same, very kind and always there to help. Housekeeping is on top of it!! Fresh towels and sheets are available at any time and bonus they have coffee in the mornings at the front desk. All in All I’m very pleased with my stay at this place and I’d stay here over anywhere else around here. Prices are good and rooms are clean. No bugs no issues. Thanks!”

“Good budget hotel with no frills. The location of the hotel is good and the rooms are clean and well kept. The front desk staff is courteous and helpful. But, basic amenities like housekeeping services and complimentary refill of water bottles, tea/coffee pouches are not provided in the room. The guests are asked to refill water bottles from the gymnasium (where you get only chilled water) or purchase them from the vending machine on the ground floor. The breakfast menu is limited and very basic. Overall good for a short weekend stay, but would not recommend for long stay.”

“Interior of this motel is unexpectedly way nicer and cleaner than I had expected driving into the parking lot! To the building's credit I didn't see ONE. SINGLE. BUG. mite, bedbug, fly, or arachnid my entire stay here at the Parkside [formerly known as the Poolside Motel], which I think, should be commended. Management &/or owner was very laid back&chill, didn't complain once about noise, and was chill about giving out more towels when I needed them, without asking for the first ones back! Thanks for a chill stay. For reference, I stayed in room number 5. Atmosphere is kinda sketchy if you don't know how the surrounding area is normally, but for the most part is safe. Light noise because you ARE on a main street, but that, personally, doesn't bother me.”

“Gracious and friendly folks. You will not regret a visit. We spent a few days in early October 2016 when the breeze was a bit chilly. However the trees and structures around the pool blocked the wind thus providing a glorious sun bathing time. The friendly people made Laguna Del Sol a place we will unquestionably return to soon. We were welcomed into their homes like longtime friends. Hot tube and poolside conversations made us feel at home. Early October brought out the flies- they were everywhere- which was our only complaint but not a fault of the resort. Our park model that was clean, well-stocked for cooking and close to all the resort amenities. We had most meals in the restaurant. The food was delicious with portions large enough to share. The restaurant features a full bar. The huge property has a nature trail to the Cosumnes River which wasn’t flowing at the time but had many pools of water to splash around in. A highlight was the Saturday night dance where the music pulled you to the dance floor. It was a sad moment watching Laguna Del Sol fade in the rear-view mirror.”
