“We stayed a week here and it was not as bad as everyone makes it seem it’s really nice and very clean people are friendly and helpful staff and always doing events for kids and families... yes it’s by the freeway but it’s not bad because we played music and didn’t hear much the only thing that we didn’t like was there was a small restroom and shower there need to be more for the amount of people that are there but other then that it’s a very beautiful place (if your going to the beach exit and go left and follow the bike trail it’s faster and a nicer spot)”

“Had an absolutely amazing stay here. The location is extremely close to the beach and has a lot of awesome places to grab a bite. The hostel itself is very clean and comfortable. Each bunk has adequate privacy and good storage. The staff is fantastic beyond words. There are a ton of awesome activities that are set up for you through the hostel, that really help to settle in. Will definitely be reccomending this place to others and hopefully coming back!”

“Nice hotel right on the boardwalk off Pacific Beach. You can't get any closer to the beach scene than this. Comfortable beds and down pillows provide great sleep after a long day. The Continental breakfast is a welcome addition that gives additional value. One of the only places right on the beach where you can go from the ocean, to the pool, to a hot tub. Not the most inexpensive place you'll stay, but for this location and proximity to the surrounding area it is great. The staff has been awesome. Only knock is the room furnishings could use a refresh. Overall, I'd definitely recommend.”

“I came here 6 yrs ago this month for my birthday. I came again Saturday June 15 and left today June 17 for my birthday again. I absolutely love this place. Lura( I might have spelt it wrong????) the mornin lady who works the office is amazing. She's very kind, down to earth, and has amazing customer service. This hotel is kinda hidden but it's perfect. Cause the main street has a bunch of different food places, and liquor stores and the best part is where the hotel sits it's literally walking distance to the ocean. Like walk out from the hotel and boom it's the ocean and then all the stores and food places that face the ocean. This is home to me. Great place and good prices for the location”

“The good news....Beautiful location, close to everything you need, including beach, boardwalk, restaurants, a grocery store and pharmacy. Hotel staff are exceptionally nice and welcoming. Room and premises were consistently clean. The sun deck on the 2nd floor has padded lounge chairs with fresh towel covers replaced daily. The downside...bed was uncomfortable, lumpy and worn out. Fitted bottom sheets are not used, making a good night's sleep rather difficult. Beach chairs provided by the hotel are cheap low-to-ground ones that were not in good shape. Price seemed very high to us, but with research, we found Hotel 23 to be comparable to other similar properties. A better bed with fitted sheets would have been appreciated, but overall a great stay.”

“We needed something last minute for a few days and happen to walk past their office last month. Everyone was super friendly and Patrick Lynch was able to find us two possibilities very quick. He was super helpful and found us the perfect spot for our needs. We went with the PB Getaway Lower and the location was great! Two blocks, walking distance right from beautiful pacific beach and the size was perfect for my mother and two small pups. Very easy checking in and checking out with lock bock access to the keys. Our stay was very clean and well kept, had all the necessities +more and was a great value. If ever back in the area will use Mission Sands again! -Lily”

This place is dog friendly (which personally is a major plus to for me haha) If you are bringing your pup with you, this is the place to you, are are right next to Ocean Beach Dog Beach.
