“Recently renovated hotel. I’ve stayed here twice without a problem Very comfortable and accommodating staff They have a clothes iron that doubles as a toaster. Some people stay here when racing at the Woodbridge invitational. The hotel has a pool, hot tub, and weight room. The only problem is there are no restaurants near by.”

“A nice campground located in the mountains with a beautiful view of the park. Staff is friendly and the price was good. We spent only one night but I'd definitely come back. It has a lot of people who live there during the whole year, so it has a very friendly energy.”

“Sierra View Mobile Estate Park is a hidden gem in Phelan. It is a smaller, senior, mobile home park, and it is always very quiet. My father-in-law recently moved into the community, and we were happy to hear that all of his neighbors are friendly. There are neat little areas throughout the property that are maintained by both the managers and the residents. One area is "The Park in the Park," and there's a table and bench and chairs for people to congregate. It's right outside their clubhouse that offers bingo once a week, and on the other side is an indoor pool. The roof over the pool could definitely use some love, but for the low slip fees, I somewhat understand why there is minimal upkeep to the grounds. So far it's been fun exploring Sierra View and it's immediate outskirts, and I look forward to future visits.”

“Extended Stay America of San Carlos has definitely exceeded my expectations. I was provided with absolutely everything I needed from dishes, to dishwashing liquid, to facial tissue, to quarters for the laundry- I was surprised at how well this hotel takes care of its guests. The rooms are a nice size and cozy, with spacious bathrooms and beautiful hardwood floors. It is located within walking distance to major retailers, the bus/Caltrain lines and downtown Redwood City with all of its attractions. Plus, the weather is gorgeous for January. The beds are comfortable and the staff is extremely friendly and kind. They let you know personally when maintenance is being performed and which utilities will be available and when, and are always ready to serve. One evening, I put in a request for a bulb to be replaced in my room and maintenance showed up the very next morning, early. I was not expecting that. Whenever I ask for additional soap or dish washing liquid from house keeping, they always give me more than I request. The hotel is also located in a safe and friendly area. I really do feel like I am at home here at Extended Stay America and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to call home while on the road.”

“Really pleasant Bed & Breakfast with very welcoming local hosts! Jeff greeted us with bottle of California chardonnay on ice - it was perfectly buttery and representative of the variety (I meant to get the name for future purchases). Our room, #1, had a small terrace that looks a few blocks to the ocean. The room was decorated in b&b frilly-style - not my taste, but done well and very fitting. The bathroom was ample sized and high-lighted with a jacuzzi tub. Everything looked very clean and that was appreciated! We were given a key to our room and to the front door. There was plenty of street parking on the private road in front of the b&b. Jeff and Lori prepared a delicious and filling breakfast while offering guidance about local events and hiking trails. We followed their advice and were rewarded with a great day at a local festival and amazing views on hiking trails. Jeff told us about the history of the b&b house that he built as a b&b and even let us sit in his classic Corvette! Would definitely recommend Pacific Victorian B&B - enjoy!”

“Great guest house rental. Well equipped kitchen with everything you should need. Very nice dining room that seats 12. Parlor is well appointed and warm. Six bedrooms - two down and four up. Ample bathrooms with towels and soap/shampoo in bath. Specular grounds with monster redwood. Parking can be tough as there is nothing on-street. Nice hiking trails in the area.”

“This is a lovely cozy B&B with friendly staff and a fantastic restaurant. It’s very simple and the bathrooms are shared, so if you’re worried about luxury or privacy this may not be your hotel. But if you prefer to get away from the same-old chain experience, this is a great option.”

“I spent 6 weeks here while working a contract. I paid $440 a week. It worked for me. It's an old place but one the more reasonably priced places. If you want newer accommodation, then go next door. Be prepared to pay a minimum of $700 a week.”

“Check-in was quick and efficient. I had some key issues which they promptly fixed. The room was clean and didn't have any issues. The balcony with a view of the ocean was fantastic. It actually had some chairs and a table. Breakfast was a basic plain bagel, some pastries, fruit, and cereal. While not inherently bad, I'd prefer to see some more variety with whole grains mixed in. They also had some dark roast coffee and a Keurig. I'll definitely consider it next time I'm on Catalina, but it didn't blow me away to the point where I'd immediately go back without researching other options.”

“Rooms are cute and clean, hotel staff is kind and thoughtful. When we stopped to drop off our bag early on the morning of our arrival, the front desk staff called to check if the room was available and allowed us to check in way earlier than we expected, which was great. There is a partial view of the beach through our window, as well.”

“This was the best Boy Scout camp my boys went to. The staff was amazing, which is not surprising - I think they have their pick of employees. If you're planning to spend the summer working at a Boy Scout Camp, why would you not choose to do it on Catalina Island? The weather was beautiful, the facilities were slightly better than the other camps, and the range of merit badges was great. This is obviously a good place to work on the water-related badges. The sailing badge, in particular, was a good one to do here. We were there on a pretty windy week, so the kids had a blast with the sailboats. The overnight "war canoe" trip to Parson's Beach was amazing, and the older scouts really enjoyed the Rugged "E" program. Highly recommended.”
