“Awesome neighborhood park with plenty of options. I come here to take my dog off leash on the creek bed North of the park. However in the park they have a strict leash on at all times rule. Park offers two sand volleyball courts(arrive early on weekends to secure a spot), tennis courts, full soccer field, full basketball court, playground, bathrooms, and six covered picnic tables. Usually quiet during the day.”

The La Serena side has the baseball diamonds and bathrooms with plenty of parking as well. There is a large grass field (6 different kinds of grass and weeds, but it looks good). Ridge Trail

Address: 33787-34079 Crafton Hills Ridge Trail, Mentone, CA 92359, USA

Park

“This is a great trail for just walking, running and mountain biking. I accessed the main trail from a small road that is paved which leads up to a black large gate with an open section. The road can he found near the tennis courts and the track/soccer field at Crafton Hills College. You will know you are on the correct path if you see solar panels on each side and a water tank near the beginning of the dirt trail. You will go around another smaller gate and this is where the dirt trail begins. This is the South West entrance. There are other ways to access these trails but I have never tried the other routes. I walked almost to the top in rain during winter storms so it was a little muddy in sections but I really enjoyed it. On a day like this I encountered only a few guys on bikes and a couple of joggers. And two coyotes that were ahead of me about 75 yards. They kept stopping and looking at me. It was funny!”

“Mount Madonna Santa Clara County Park is good for group picnic, camping and hiking. It has good trails. It has benches and barbeque, restrooms and parking near all the picnic areas. A very good place for family day time outing with kids and grown ups. Frisbee and boll games can be played in small informal play fields. We were really lucky to have very good weather on our visit. Tall Redwood trees keeps ground shadowed. We found Banana slugs along trails. Ladybug with black spots amused kids. Approach roads are good. I highly recommend this park for day time family outings.”
