“The scenery was beautiful. I was lucky that this day the snow began falling. Such an awesome experience for the kids. Remember to dress in layers and don't forget the beanies and extra gloves. The boogie boards worked great for sliding down the mountain side.”

“The park itself is clean and well maintained and is a great park for family games and picnics. There are public restrooms available though I did not visit the area. My main reason for visiting this park was to explore their paved walking trail. Word to the wise, there is a riverbed nearby and homeless or similar residents may occupy the park. I experienced no problems myself and enjoyed a nice walk. There are small wildlife here as well. I would definitely bring the family to the family and picnic area of this park.”

“Enjoyable camping with kids. They have running water and restrooms. Don't expect any cell phone reception on campgrounds. You will have to walk to the main office to get any coverage.”

“I've been coming to big basin for 40 years. I have many years of us kids on the log in campsite 129 this year we were at 124 and 125. I love having big basin an hour away from me for camping or hiking and the memories my family continues to have. The staff is always friendly”

“What an amazing experience. We spent a couple hours at the park and wish we could have spent a couple days. The Red Woods are amazing. We picked an easy loop trail (great for 5 year old), it wasn't crowded and there was plenty of parking. $10 admission per vehicle. It is a Very winding road when coming in from the north”

“Very relaxing place. Beautiful trails. We stayed in cabin #29 which comes with the complete camping package, we had pretty much everything we needed. We went in end of March so nights were pretty cold and we needed the wood stove burning for warmth, but need to manage the fire or the cabin will get really hot. The staff there are really friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are kept pretty clean. If it rains, the ground can get really muddy and the hiking trails can get dangerous in some parts. Overall it was A great experience and we can't wait to go again!”

“There is no way to rate our experience, But we are rating on customer service since we are business owners.. Short story we had reservation and they are cancelled because of Mother Nature. We decide to still come to the area since we were already on our there from Sacramento. We had come to terms with being there in the rain. It was my partners bday and he wants to do some nature cleansing since we have a very stressful, demanding business. So after still going we go to ranger station and ask questions. We tell the ranger about our reservations and my partner ask about the gift shop cause he wanted replace a coffee mug from 13 yrs ago . Well it was closed on that day. We decided to hike around in the rain some small trails.. On our way back the park ranger comes looking for us and tells us that he talked to the gift shop owner and he is gonna open the shop so we can get a replacement for my partner. As a business owner this is what customer service is about.. HE did not have to offer to do this but he did. He was sorry he had to cancel our reservations and was very nice. From one business owner to another this what customer service is about. we will def be trying to go back soon. Thank you to the shop owner and the park ranger for making a bummed situation into a memorable one for my partner on his bday .”

“This is probably our favorite hike in the entire bay area. I have done it over the last 35 years multiple times, and am still amazed by it. As noted by everyone, start early in the day. Best after a big rain. Trail is hard, muddy, elevation, but worth it. Roughly 5 hours round trip, for average shape adult. I actually like the small falls, before berry creek just as much, where you climb down right next to the falls. Counter clockwise loop is better.”
