“I was breathless just from the short amount of time I was there. Both from, the sights, and the hike. Not sure what trails I walked on because they kept connecting to others. I believe I even saw ice (pictured). I have passed this place every time I have taken Page Mill Rd, but will definitely be coming back.”

“Frequent visit this trail. Rolling hills are beautiful this time of year, given the rains. Took heed of rising reservoirs compared to weeks ago. Admired the blooming rare fruit trees in the orchard grove - a site to see. A refreshing morning activity, good experience. Recommend as a easy leisure trail to hike/walk. Mostly gravel trail.”

“This hike is just amazing. It can be a tough uphill slog at times, but always with incredible payoffs at the top of every hill. On one side are endless views of the bay and the hills on the west side. Town around and there are rolling green hills as far as you can see. You can make this a long or short hike, easy or hard, but you'll most likely love it (so long as you don't mind horses and cows, and the excrement that accompanies them).”

“Really fantastic park with challenging inclines and awesome views of Mt. Diablo. You might be a little confused as you drive to the stating area as you have to drive through a little subdivision. Don't be afraid! The parking lot is indeed behind all those houses. On my 6 mile hike, I only saw 2 other people the entire time. It's a pretty undiscovered place.”

“No amenities besides trail maps, and a brutal start to the trail, but a great and never crowded trailhead.”
Address: 2871 Bowling Green Dr, Walnut Creek, CA 94598, USA
“Gorgeous view! A place that must be known as a must see for tourists. I feel like the amount of popularity this place gets does not do it justice. The dirt roads are kind of slippery so beware. There are two swings: one you can sit on and another that you can stand on. They're both freaking awesome to try and you can take great pictures on them with Walnut Creek right behind you !”

“White Ranch is good for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and even backpacking and has several trails of varying length and difficulty. There are two campsites and the Sawmill Hiker's Campground is a mere mile or so hike from the main parking lot. The park provides non-potable water, firewood and fire rings on around 10 reservable sites at each campsite. The best part is you can get our permit at the Golden Ranger's office...for free! We went this past weekend and had a blast! This is by far the best option for you or your children's first backpacking experience! Highly recommended!”
