“I hiked this trail to the Pacific. It's a little over 8 miles round trip, so we took our time and did it in a little over 3.5 hours. There's about 1000 feet of elevation gain and loss, and there's no water along the way so be prepared. Trail is narrow and often blocked by down trees, so this is not a good option for children or the mobility impaired. Highlights are deep Forrest and wildlife and not seeing anyone else until the beach.”

“The trails around here are generally amazing. I like the Muddy Hollow trail little more than this one however”

“Wonderful views on a clear day. Nothing much on the top. Hikers could hike to the peak via Black Mountain Trail from San Rancho or Rhus Ridge or from Monte Bello. Summer days would bring you above the clouds to give some wonderful experience.”

“Never crowded and very clean beach. Has a long beach walk to the overpass and cliff. When tide is low you can cross the lagoon and walk through the cave. Ideal for families with kids but remember, no pets allowed and no drones allowed.”

“Love this hike. Today it was nice and muddy and some of the streams we're flowing high. Just be careful crossing some of the more faster deeper streams after a long rain. Mount Burdell has many different paths to take and the views are always fun to check out. Multiple paths means different times to finish. This hike will not disappoint. Parts get a little slippery / Rocky. Keep Dogs on leash. Cattle are usually present. Every know and then you will see a snake.”

“There are many miles of trails, some multi-purpose, some for hikers only, and some for hikers and horseback riders. The views from High Ridge Loop Trail and Tolman Peak are stupendous. The park is well-maintained, if a bit rustic. Perfect for either daily dog-walking or serious hiking. Dry Creek Cottage Gardens, open only Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, is a delight. Different plants are growing and blooming through all seasons, but the rare irises scattered throughout the garden are a special treat in Spring. Don't miss the Garden.”

“This may be the nicest park in the Danville/Alamo area. Too bad more people don't use it. They need to add bark at the play structure though as you can't even get a wheelchair in it now.”
