“Hands down our favorite park in the Concord/WC/Lafayette area. HUGE play structures with loads of variety and really fun jack and Jill artificial turf hills to slide down. Can get insanely busy at weekends, but rose/kids garden is a short stroll away and lot of fun to explore. Prodigious amounts of duck/goose poop around the lake. Baking hot in summer but great place to take kids the rest of the year.”

“I have been to a LOT of dog parks, and this is probably the nicest I've seen. I stop whenever I'm in the area, and it's always in excellent condition. The surface is grass. The large dog park is built on a gentle slope, which I think helps it drain so the turf doesn't get muddy and torn up from rain. (And then patchy and dusty in summer.) The slope and irregular shape make it more interesting than the typical flat rectangle, and there's a path around the perimeter. The people and dogs I've met have all been friendly. Plenty of parking, double gate, small & large dog sections, water, poop bags, and good fencing. Just a pleasant place for your dog and you.”

“You just simply can't go wrong at Hillcrest Community Park. It's a cool spot to bring a date, go for a family picnic, or even spend some alone time to unwind. If you haven't been here before it's one of those places in la I would highly recommend checking out. Morning, noon, or night anytime of the week. It's simply a must.”

“Nice park for a day outdoors. Great little playground for kids, water refill stations & tables around the park that were perfect for picnics or BBQs. There were some nice little areas to walk around the creek, with bridges that eventually lead to a pond with turtles and tiny fish. It was a great little place to adventure. The only down is the sulfur smell near the creek but it's pretty much limited too that area. Overall nice spot for a family outing or just to go walking in the sunshine.”

“It was a great experience hiking this place. It was quaint and meditative hiking this trail alone. The trail is about 2 miles consisting of trees, bushes, couple of creeks in between and a gravel bed. No big scenics, until we hit a few mounds of rocks. The almost 2 miles hike was worth it after seeing these rocky hills. There was a smell of some sort of herbs or something in the entire trail that was therapeutic.”

“My dog loves this place! There are usually plenty of other dogs to play with and most owners seem responsible. I'm giving it only four stars because there aren't nearly enough baggie disowned for such a large area.”

“My dogs fav park but seems like a lot of dog owners don't know about it. Hidden gem for sure. In the morning middle of the day is great, 4 p.m. just beware that sometimes later in the day more active dogs show up that have been cooped up and can be a little higher energy if you know what I mean. Big dog park Is huge, little dog park is less than a quarter of the size. Both parks full of GRASS!!!”

“I have many fond memories of Summer Lake Park. Saturdays, up and ready early for 8am soccer games with the kids. A beautiful large park within walking distance from the house. Also, a beautiful skate park for the roller blades and skate boarders in the family.”
