“It is what it is. A small fenced area with turf, water bowl, and benches to sit on. If you have enough dogs to play it's all you need. It's a little hard to find and not very busy but serves it's purpose”

“Love this park near a community center. Well equipped and well-maintained. Slide house set is big with tent blocking scorching sunlight. There is even a water playing area. There are also tennis and basketball courts.”

“Awesome playground. Lots of different elements found nowhere else. Close to a big soccer field.”

“Nice trail but it ends up in someone's driveway and I'm not really sure if you're allowed to be here. There's a garbage can that's completely overflowing with dog poop bags that no one is coming to take out but people keep leaving their poop bags there.”

“Beautiful place for hiking. Or MTB. Steep hills. Great views.”

“Do you like the sky? Have you ever looked over the bay? I assume the view is good at daytime, but wow - going at night is spectacular. Get an app on your phone to know where you're looking and you'll be able to see planets and constellations. In addition to the heavens, the earth below is equally awesome. Take a gander at the expanse of the SF Bay area.”

“Running course for cross country. Not open to the public, but has a small tennis court and playground. The view of the reservoir across the way is beautiful. If you ever get the opportunity to run here, it's truly an experience. (My running advice of the course: the first mile is by far the hardest. The running back up the hill is impossibly hard and it pychs you out. Try and keep a solid first mile and the other two are much easier. There is a moderately difficult hill in the middle section to keep in mind)”

“Relaxing, not crowded on the day we went. Clean! Long stretch of land to explore and take in the deep breath.”

“Parking is free, but the lot is small so get there early. Nice path leading around the point to the jetty and the open ocean. The beach juts against cliffs, so check the tide calendar before you go. Go at low tide and check out the great tide pools. Leashed dogs allowed, but people generally ignore the rule.”

“Wildlife views include pelicans, various other birds, crabs, an eel-like fish, and tiny sand critters that burrow in the sand. We went Sunday, and there are lots of people including international tourists. Many folks have un-leashed dogs even though signs clearly command leashes or fines! Everyone appears "normal" meaning there are no apparent homeless, mentally handicapped, or heavy drug users around. I feel safe, and I am a woman nearing 60. The beach is clean. Sand is fine and easy to walk bare footed. No one is in swimsuits. It is July 29 and the temperature is 63° at 5:25pm. I had Googled Maverick Beach and it placed me here. Parking is free, but crowded. All in all, it is a lovely place for a ten-minute or hours long walk, or a beach picnic--as many people do.”

“Great area for hiking and biking. Beware that bikes are allowed on some of the skinny twisty trails.”

“Great kayak launch and very pretty. Lots of birds and super peaceful”

“Wonderfully empty. Even on a nice day, few people come here. It's got great interpretive signs around marsh ecology and stunning views of San Pablo Bay and the San Pablo Hills. Bonus if you are a railfan: LOTS of trains go by the East side - where the UP main line parallels the multi use trail to the main part of Pt. Pinole Regional Shoreline”

“Beautiful park with picnic spots, a swimming pool, a ball field and more. We were there for a wedding and it was lovely. The trees are gorgeous and the park is well-maintained. One of the picnic spots we were in had about 20 picnic tables, which is great for large groups. It was a warm day, but it was cool and shaded under the trees. Really a beautiful place for a wedding!”

“Wonderful hiking with many different routes. Nice views of the bay from some posts. Bathroom needs to be cleaned and maintain better.”

“Absolutely amazing trails! Dog friendly and views of red woods are fantastic. The drive there was almost as beautiful as the hike.”
Address: Redwood Peak Trail, Oakland, CA 94611, USA
“A challenging hike that will definitely be a workout for most. There is not a payoff in terms of a view or a marker but the intensity means it is an area that is not frequented by casual visitors or bikers so the solitude alone can make this worthwhile. As with all of Redwood Regional, the shade and aura are a welcome relief from the bustle of Oakland.”
