Falls Canyon Trailhead

Address: Silverado, CA 92676, USA

Park

“Not really a trailhead but it is definitely the start of the hike. Parking: if you have an adventure pass then you can park close, of not then you are going to have to pack behind the gate which is 1/4 of a mile down the road. The trailhead is easy to miss as there are no signs. But definitely noticeable if you know what to look for. Simply put, look for a mountain opening, a valley of sort on the left side. Not hard to see. Once you find it, cross the river/stream, walk into the valley and follow THAT stream up to the falls. Hike is easy and difficult depending on the area. You might have to climb a tiny bit. Good for kids with a little supervision. I take my toddler with me all the time. He walks about 1/8 of a mile on his own but mostly in a child carrier backpack. Go early as the valley and canyon can warm up. Easily 5*+ degrees warmer than the rest of Orange County. Bring water and snacks. Trail itself is primarily shaded but always bring sunblock. Depending on the water level, you might have to walk through water at some crossings or not so be prepared for that too See my other review and photos posted at "hidden falls"”

“Theres a small aquifer/spring on the trail that I've gotten many a drinks from on this trail. It's not a very rigorous trail, but its such a fun trail to venture out on. Santiago peak, although not the most exciting peak, still provides exceptional views of Lake Elsenor to the east and orange county to the west.”
