Paradise Falls

Address: Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, USA

Park

“Nice hike to a really great waterfall. It's an easy hike, our 9 year old had no problem making it the entire way. We packed lunches and had lunch at the falls. There is also a covered place to stop along the way, the tee pee, where you can get out of the sun on a hot day. We've done the hike multiple times and the kids love it.”

Rosewood Trail Trailhead

Address: 398 Regal Oak Ct, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320, USA

Park

“This is coming from a non-hiker's perspective. It climbs 450' while covering 2 miles up and 2 back so I ran out of breath every so often but made it down with no breaks. The trail is well defined and wide enough for 2 side by side. Fairly safe. The only exception were bike riders use the trail too. Probably too much for a first hike for someone like me, but I could see that a regular hiker could find it enjoyable with many vista points.”

“This was a fun hike that's recommended for kids 6 and up. Majority of the hike is a regular path, but getting down to the water requires climbing over and under rocks and boulders. That part was a challenge but a lot of fun. In the summer and fall months there isn't a lot of water, but winter and spring you'll find points in the hike that you'll be getting wet so bring shoes that you're ok getting wet. The kids brought their bathing suits”

The picnic area is near the restrooms and can be reserved thru the city’s website. A walking path wraps around the park with several water fountains. There is no parking lot and you must park on the street but there is a handicapped and wheelchair accessible area. The restrooms are hit and miss, some days they’re clean and at other times they are not.”
