“Just got here. Parking is a little difficult here, but the complex looks nice. I'm here for the softball game, three diamonds and all the bleachers are covered. It's not hot today, which is good, but it's covered nicely. Soccer fields are turf and the tennis courts have a nice crowd Of people and I can't really see what's going on.”

“We stopped by this preserve to get off the highway and walk around. What a pleasant surprise. The boardwalk along the river provides lots of photo ops. We saw many birds, squirrels and rabbits. The wetlands viewing area was just beautiful and we spotted a variety of water birds. The visitors center looked interesting but was closed. Nonetheless they had a nice picnic area next to the visitor center. Pit toilets were the only bathrooms we noticed. Definitely worth stopping here.”

“A beautiful place for a light hike with a small or large group. There us plenty of parking along the street where the park is and there are s few parking lots as well. The breeze is cool in the canyon and there is plenty of shaded places at the park below to have a pic ice before or after the hike! Sadly the Caves are fenced off but there a lot of rock formations created by visitors and explorers. We added a rock to a few designs ourselves, it was a fun time! You can see the Hollywood sign from ovwe the hills as you drive up and as you're himing as well, it is worth the visit on a leisure day. Will be coming again someday soon!”

“Came here for a walk with my dog. We parked outside of the park, so the parking is free. There are paid Parkin available inside the park. There are ponds/lakes. I saw people fishing here. Paddle boats are available, but I don't know how much it costs. There are plenty of playgrounds, volleyball fields, and baseball fields throughout the park. This is very beautiful park, and very clean. There are free plastic poo bags available everywhere in the trail if you forgot to bring yours. Will come back again.”

“I have worked across the United States with my job and always stay in my RV while away from home working. I have stayed in a lot of RV parks along the way, not all of them were that great. I have been here at Arena RV Park since February of 2022 and will be for another 6 to 8 months. I have to honestly say that it has been an absolute pleasure to stay here. It is directly off of Hwy 99 in Chowchilla so it convenient for travels to pull into to for an overnight stay. With that said, for being close to Hwy 99 as it is you would think you would hear a lot of traffic noise. If you are outside you will hear some but in while in your RV you hear nothing. There is a train track near so you will hear the train but it only passes a couple of times a day so it's no big deal. The shower house/bathrooms are clean and well kept as is the laundry room. The only draw back to the laundry room is no change machine so you will have to go elsewhere to get change before doing laundry. The mangers are very friendly and helpful as well as everyone that I met here. I would highly recommend this RV park if you will be working in the area, in the area for a few days or even if just travelling through.”

“I'm originally from Charleston South Carolina and got an itch to go camping while out here for work. One of my students of whom I was teaching recommended Sequoia National Forest as a place to start. I've always wanted to see redwoods and since I'm here for 3 weeks and have nothing left to do on the weekends, I decided to make this place my choice. I hopped on the app and kind of searched around and found a few places I like but frog Meadows kind of stood out. It took approximately four and a half hours from Oxnard to get there. Once I arrived in some small town I began my truck upside the mountain. The roads were definitely windy and excessive speed is not recommended as there are many blind turns. Once you get up to the point where you're entering the campgrounds there is about, I think around an hour and a half worth on dirt roads. The dirt road is very narrow and decides to go down to a steep degrade. But that view tho was incredible. I arrived in a car, so the road wasn't that bad.”

“Greatly enjoyed our time while tent camping at Shepherd’s Trail, in the shadow of Lyon’s Peak. Giuseppe the camp director was very accomodating and attentive. Nice shade trees, pool, bathhouse, and beautiful handmade stone walls that you rarely see anywhere else these days — took the caretaker decades to make. Lots of quail and mountain (big) doves on the premises. Horsethief trail (with seasonal rock pools) is nearby, as is the fun Lyons Valley Trading Post. The drive out here, be it via Skyline Truck Trail (newly paved) or Honey Springs Rd, is quite nice. Thanks for a great experience on short notice.”

“This is a hidden gem with several walking trails and a large pond, among other things. It's close to neighborhoods and easy to get to, but once in the park it feels like you're out in the wilderness. Lots of short, easy dirt walking trails and pretty nature views. These trails connect to a larger network of walking/hiking trails, which makes this a good starting point for longer walks. Dogs are allowed in the park, and the park has a children's playground area and good parking.”

“We were passing through town for a trip to northern CA and we stayed here one night. We booked online after hours and rolled in about a half hour later in the dark. We were greeted at the gate by 2 helpful kids (the employees children) and then by Ron & Monica - the security and office team. They were wonderful! They guided us to a spot right near the laundry room since we said we needed to do laundry. They helped us get our hook ups set up, then came back to check on us a bit later, and even came back again to give us a brick to hold down our sewer line (ours was broken unbeknownst to us). The laundry room was great - super clean. We loved the dog park, which was also clean and well taken care of. What we saw of the RV park was clean and well manicured. Many long term residents, but the few we crossed paths with were very friendly. Wanted to come back on our trip home, but our route changed. A great stop and we appreciate the friendliness of Ron & Monica (and your kiddos) ☺️”

“It is a nice park, very quiet but I think It need to be preserved better from the city and from the citizens. Walking around I found trash in different places, expecially in the water. Restrooms are dirty most of the time and some areas the grass is dieing. Need more maintenance!”
