“Great place to hang out with family or even walk around with friends. It has a playground, baseball field, small walking trial and a good amount of space to play soccer. The neighborhood is soso safe. I know there have been some bad news here, but it is safe during park hours.”

“Great trail, but needs some preservation work. The "shortcuts" people take are going to ruin the hillside. If you continue up the hill past the end of the trail (trail comes to a "T", go straight), there are great views of both the San Fernando valley as well as Simi Valley. Some of the sections of the trail are not super kid friendly, but a 10 year old would be fine.”

“The best place this side of town to walk your dog in a grassy, tree filled sanctuary full of room to run and play with other dogs. The dog owners are very neighborly and seem to know each other owners and their dogs.”

“This is the lower entrance to Santa Susana State Park. There is parking along the street. Picnic tables to eat upon. The trail gradually goes up hill from this spot into the Santa Susana Mountains. The most popular goal is the Stagecoach trail. This trail follows the old stagecoach road out of the San Fernando Valley to Simi Valley. It terminates at the Lilac trailhead at the top of the park. There is a toilet here, but I always find it locked.”

“This place is for kids. It is a playground not intended for adults. If you are here as an adult with no child, you will have the cops called on you. So use caution. Regardless this place is located at Thornton park. It is a nice safe walk or jog if you happen to be in the neighborhood.”

“It was windy as we walked the beach. There were a ton of people there, but there is no way for it to feel crowded. We watched parasailers and looked at the sea gulls. It was a beautiful time for a stroll. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.”

“I coach 9-10 year old basketball team. We practice here on Saturdays. The gym is nice, looks to be new. The gym is located in the back; you'll have to drive all the way up (do not follow the dirt road, it leads to a private road with no outlet). There were ants in the gym; maybe they hold other events in the gym. The staff was nice; not too hot in the gym. Benches for the teams and crowd but there were ants near the benches for the crowd/entrance. They have a few extra balls too if needed.”
