“Burnout Beach has a chill, cozy, neighborly vibe to it. Lots of people just walking or exercising or chilling or waking the dog...Not too crowded and a chill beach view. Maybe not as breathtaking as other beaches but a nice home-y, everyday beach. Great spot for some ocean air, taking in a relaxed beach view, and getting some movement in.”

If you don't mind turning it into quite the walk you can park at the Long Beach Town Center and take the river bed down. Alternatively, you can park at the Park across the street, but you will have to pay again. There are plenty of birds, turtles and bugs to see at the nature center as well as a small information center. A calendar near the entrance provides additional details of what to expect in the weeks ahead.”

Lighthouse Beach

Address: 4200-, 4298 Ocean Front Walk, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, USA

Park

“I love this beach. It's just steps from where I live and very nice. They keep it clean and there are life guards on duty. There are sand bugs that are pretty alarming, but I read that these are common in LA beaches. I took my son here and he loved it. There are some neat paths on the way to the beach that make it easy to get there. The parking isn't bad either, but it will cost you so it's better to park somewhere close by and walk if you aren't local. It's neat to see the boats head to see from the nearby harbor of Marina del Rey. It's a great place to relax and just enjoy nature and boating. I will make sure to visit as often as possible and can't wait to head back.”

“Wow. I have been working in Santa Monica for months and I kind of stumbled upon this place and it was so great. There is so much exploring that can be done here. Steps and stumps to climb, bridges and fallen trees to cross, tables and clearings for family fun, bathrooms, and a small store that was not open today (Saturday). The are tons of other hikers here and many trails to explore with lots of variations. The trails can be strenuous, but there are many mild-moderate alternatives along the way. Plus the trail is wooded!!! So the is plenty of shade. Parking is $10.”
