“Eaton Canyon Nature Park is a190-acre zoological, botanical, and geological nature preserve situated at the base of the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains. We went here on a Sunday morning. The hike to the 40-foot Eaton Canyon Waterfalls can be summed up to: 1.1 miles of wide flat, relatively uneventful dirt trail, followed by 0.65 miles of single track up a narrow canyon that is adventurous and fun (forming a 3.5 mile round trip hike with 375 feet of elevation change). Free parking is available. Dogs are welcome in Eaton Canyon Park and on Eaton Canyon Trail to the waterfall. No fee or permit is required. Overall, I enjoyed my time hiking. It is an easy trail so anyone can do it.”

“One of the most hidden and secluded spots in Griffith Park. This canyon was saved by activist Royce Neuschatz from being turned into a landfill like nearby Toyon Canyon. Thanks to her efforts this canyon was saved. It’s rather easy to reach, just follow up Mt. Hollywood Drive. The road is usually rather shady and makes for a pleasant hike even on a hot summer day. Down in the canyon you’ll find some small “caves”. Beware, you might meet P22 there.”

“If you’re ever looking for a place to get a good workout I’m nature among likeminded people, this is your place. You can choose to walk up the stairs to the top of the mountain, which is a great leg and cardiovascular workout. Or you can go up the service road which is challenging as well. The stairs can get kind of congested during peak hours, but everyone is always friendly and adds to the great energy. There is street parking as well as metered parking.”

“Beautiful, peaceful park, with a nice view of the east side, and Sgv on the other side. Also has basketball court, two tennis court and baseball field. Definitely the best park in Monterey Park. Bathroom needs better maintenance. The park also has a small, nice Japanese style area on the top part of the park with a shaded hut and benches for picnics or birthday party's, or used as a smoking area at night.”

“Great hike for humans and dogs. Moderate hike - but generally easy. The views are amazing here. The trail is not shaded due to the lack of trees. There are a number of benches and vista point if you need to rest. Parking can be an issue during busy days and hydrate your dog more frequently during hot or summer days. Clean up after them too!”

“A very serene walk. Definitely check it out if you want a peaceful place to walk. It's not a long walk to the caves. There is a meditation circle made out of rocks. If you stay quiet you can hear pebbles rolling down and birds flapping their wings.”
