This is a great memorial for many reasons. We came here just to e joy the memorial and its beauty but people can also do photoshoots and other stuff. Downstairs are 2 gift and bookstores and many cool facts about Thomas Jefferson.
This place is very unique for me. From outside u can only see the memorial building with Jefferson statue in it, but they actually do have a lift to bring you down to the underground area for a small book and gift shop, another room for its history and statue. Good to pay a visit if u around national mall area.
I'm from the DMV area and at 27, this was my first time visiting. It's a beautiful place to explore. I went here late night (around 1 AM) and we had this place to ourselves. We weren't bothered by security or anything. I appreciated that!
This was my first time in DC and the Jefferson Memorial was one of the places I had to see. The building is beautiful and a site the see. We went during the week and it was not too busy. They also have a few exhibits and a store in the mower level of the memorial. This memorial is a little ways from the National Mall so we took a lyft to get to it. I would recommend this memorial as a must see when in DC.
Really cool memorial. I went there in the evening during the week and it was not crowded. Don’t miss the basement section with lots more information on Jefferson’s life. The memorial is along the river making for a nice walk or place to sit and relax overlooking the river and national mall. The quotes on the walls of the memorial are inspiring and something this country needs to return to.
