The Ugly Grouper

An absolute must if you are on Anna Marie Island. The grouper tacos are outrageously good and the shell used for the tacos is something I have never seen before. Everything is fresh and tastes great. I was also impressed with the nice local beer selection.

The outdoor seating area is perfect for island eating and it's a great place to even socialize and stay for a while too.

The wife, kids and I decided to eat here after looking at the menu online. We read reviews both positive and negative about this place but decided to try it anyway. I was very impressed with the food and service that we got. Our server was Ian and he was great he really made the experience that much better. Food was hot service was good. We were sitting outside and it was about to rain he came over and asked if we would want to move inside. There was an empty table so we did. The kids menu portions are very big. It is a little pricey but I don’t mind paying good money for good food and great service. I will definitely be eating here again and recommending this to anybody that comes to this area. I had the blackened grouper sandwich And it was amazing. I had never had Grouper before so I have nothing to compare it to but it was good. All in all I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a good meal while you are visiting the area.

Really great beach bar. They have great food and a great ambiance. The service was great.

I had the grouper tacos and they were awesome. The tortilla is cheese cooked into a shell. It is very unique.

The ugly grouper is pretty centrally located and easy to get to. It's on the main drag.

They have tons of entertainment for the kiddos. So, the kids can be free range while the adults have a beverage or two.

We had Casey as a waitress. She was amazing! Funny as heck, but amazingly attentive to our table. Seriously great staff member. Thanks Casey.

Wow, the cocktails are amazing! Also, try the pretzel bites. The second best grouper sandwich on the island. (The best is at the pier). But if you're looking for a fun place to have some drinks and even take the kids, this is it. We heard great live music every night we were there. (My three visits in a week should tell you we liked the place!)

Went for lunch while on vacation. I expected everything to be good, but the food really blew me away! Had gator, grouper and a burger on our table and we all tried a little of everything. Every single thing was delicious! I mean, the sweet potato fries were possibly the best I've ever had, grouper was cooked PERFECTLY and the burger is out of this world!!! Paul was our server and he was awesome!! Killer atmosphere to boot. Can't wait to head back home to Colorado and explain the goofy fish on the shirt I just had to buy. 😂😂 HIGHLY recommend a meal here!
