Vizcaya Village

I thought Vizcaya was a botanical garden until I arrived and discovered this used to be a private estate! The gardens are beautiful and extensive. The house is decorated in a classic European style.. Very formal and ornate. The rear of the house overlooks the bay. It's amazing to think that at one time people lived here!

It's the perfect picture-taking spot, especially at night. I've been here in the day time, too, though, so you can get both perspectives, but, really, it's better at night. This is a popular stop and usually has lots of people enjoying the setting. I've even seen a bride and groom taking pics. The best part is that it's free.

What a nice, calming place to visit. Want to go back in cooler and non-CoViD times to be able to enjoy more of it. Did have issues w/tickets given to me as a birthday gift that I couldn't use b/c I didn't go on the date on the tickets. No where does it say tickets have to be used in the specific date. ? ?
