  I visited here with my youngest daughter to watch my oldest daughter and her class on field trip. This was a really beautiful place to just take a walk and see all the greens and flowers all around. If I knew about the place sooner I would have visited the place more

  I have been coming here my whole life and it is a big part of the reason I'm going to school for plant biology. It is a beautiful garden and well worth the trip. It would be a perfect place to take a date or to spend the afternoon with your grandparents (which is what I've always done).

  Beautiful and calm atmosphere. It takes you away from the fast city life and into a serene environment. I had not been there since I was a lot younger. I did not really remember it. I do know that I loved it. Next time, I will take a picnic lunch and perhaps...wine. They also have a wonderful gift shop and beverages in various places.

  The Watson Island - Japanese Garden are so beautiful! It's seriously a selfie, photo opt Mecca and I can totally see why people get married there. There's places that look like jungles, there's a Japanese garden, turtles, bird watching, rose gardens, streams etc. Wear some comfortable shoes because it requires quite a bit of walking in order to see all Descanso has to offer. I came on a whelm and had on flip flops which wasn't smart lol. We explored for about 2 hours and still didn't see everything. Descanso would be a great place to go hiking, with a very scenic workout. Check their website in order to find out when you can explore for free.
