“A great hidden gem in the forest. The quality of residents is welcome and the cleanliness of the facilities is somewhat shocking for a small campground. A restaurant and pub in walking distance makes this place an absolute A+ stop.”

“Nice small park to walk at. Maybe a half a mile trail in total around the pond. A few very small gators, some turtles, and an owl live around the area. Its no big nature preserve or anything, but if you wanna go for a walk for an hour or less, this is a good place.”

“We had an amazing experience, the place is clean and organized. The displays are authentic, every section was unique. They have a big variety of plants and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. They even have a donkey, emus and food to feed the fish! Can’t wait until next month, to stop by again. Great job everyone.”

“We did the bioluminescent rafting with BK Adventures, and it was awesome. The experience was great, and the guides were awesome. I was the adult in charge of a group of 12 high school students - who enjoyed it more than DisneyLand!”

“Talking about the beach:: Great secluded place to hang out if you don't want to be bothered much. There is a certain population that likes to come here and you'll find out when you get there. More secluded due to it being part of a state/national park and all. The cost is a great deal (check their site) for a one year membership. If you're a visitor, it's $15 last time I went for the day but I'm not an Orlando resident.”

“Great park! Public restroom was dark and a little dirty. Picnic benches with umbrellas and BBQ pit for grilling. Direct access to the beach. A place to wash the sand off (outdoor shower). Parking lot was a good size and free.”

“What a lovely clean beach far enough away that it's not crowded, yet close enough that it's easy to get to. Seriously a great spot. Water is clear, sand is warm, sun is bright, totally all good.”

“What a wonderful place. One of the best state parks in southern Florida. The trails are extensive (I did the entire white trail, which is longer than the green trail). The mountain bike trails are always busy (because they are really good!). I didn’t have a mountain bike, but I could use my hybrid on the paved paths throughout the park as well as the roads, so that worked out too! Hobe mountain is here, which is a great way to start the day before it gets hot. Renting kayaks down by the river is so easy and the prices are very reasonable. If you go during the week, it’s not busy at all. They even sell craft beer by the river! Who does that?! What a great surprise that was after a full day of hiking! On my second trip, I rented a kayak and went all the way up to the end of the river trail, the entire river was peaceful, with a few people fishing, kayaking, and a pontoon boat or two taking people to the Trapper Nelson’s historical place at the end of the trail. I honestly can’t recommend a better outdoor place to go if you’re in the area.”

“Nice nature preserve in a wetlands/lake setting. Paved paths, boardwalks and a two story observation deck. Saw a lot of water fowl, moorhens, coots and a bald eagle. Definitely worth a look.”
