“Great dog park. Clean and my dogs love it. There’s a path to walk your dog on off or on leash (entire thing is completely fenced in) there is also separate places to let your dog off leash that is small than the entire park. Also there are separate areas for dogs different sizes. One of my favorite dog parks to go to”

“A great place for a walk to enjoy the scenery, and very popular for photography and events like weddings and 5k runs. With lots of old beautiful trees planted in rows, 3 ponds, art installations, and a large woods to explore, St James a great place to check out. This is the former estate of Brooks McCormick, a philanthropist and industrialist who was the CEO of International Harvester truck and tractor co. There is a heavy focus on horses, with lots of paddocks, stables, a riding arena, and horse related art on the property. The southern farm field was a steeplechase track in the past, and the farm was filled with horses along with a school for disabled people to learn about riding horses. I hope over time that the forest preserve can bring it back to what it was like during those years, as they currently do not have horses living there.”

“My daughter has danced here for 10 years. She has also taken gymnastics on occasion. Both programs are exceptional. Watching the progression from 3 years to 12 years has been fun in the dance program! Miss Rachel and the other instructors are committed, professional and knowledgeable. We've also had karate, basketball and other programs at this facility and, although clearly an institutional facility, we've always felt welcome and like we have gotten the recreational experience we expected.”

“Fun playground with various sizes of play areas for kids of different ages. Basketball court (half) and hopscotch, as well as a little path around a grassy area to enjoy. Also, the seating/eating areas can be cheaply reserved for birthday parties and such.”

“There used to be two small, old parks here, but recently the Park District tore them down and put up a nicer, bigger park in the middle. Also, on an interesting side-note, there is a shallow stream that runs across the northern part near the houses. This empties out into Evergreen Lakes Park and the pond on the other side of Morton road.”

“Really nice park, lots of space. Facilities for most major sports, also good for cross country/running (my team runs intervals there). There is a large playground and pavilion with bathrooms right next to it. Tennis courts, basketball courts. I only wish there were more trees so as to have a bit more shade.”
