According to them, The Millennium Trail currently spans just over 30 miles in two disconnected segments, but there are plans to extend it to 35 miles and connect it to the Des Plaines River Trail. The trail goes through forest, farmland, and the suburban neighborhoods of Lake County with a range of surfaces, including crushed stone, asphalt, and concrete. The trail is well marked with Millennium Trail signs, and the route is intertwined with other trails.”

“Great park for 1 to 10year old kids. Has a small house to sit down when it's sunny. A path for parents to walk and two separate playground equipment for the children. Also, a small rock climbing wall and plastic tree stumps to climb up. The only downside, there is no porter potty, but a gas station is only a street way. The parking could have more spots. Definitely worth a visit.”

“Older facilities, could use some TLC. However, considering the state budget problems the past few years, they have done a great job. We have spent many weeks here for the past 6 years and the Park Rangers and the Camp Hosts in the office have been fantastic. We even met the head guy (Saki Villalobos) and were treated to an oral history of the North and South Parks. Awesome!”
