“I recently cared for my 92 year old mother, following a fall at home, which resulted in a compression fracture of T7. During her initial visit to an urgent care, she received Hydrocodone for pain and an infusion of Fentanyl. She was discharged and sent home with Hydrocodone. By day 4, post trauma, she was still unable to keep down food or meds. I called Heartland, Tuesday, to ask for guidance. It happened to be Dr. Pul’s day off. I Ieft a voicemail, and struggled with what I should do next. About 30 minutes later, that voice mail was answered. I was offered a telehealth conference that afternoon. Dr. Puls, on her day off, initiated that call. We discussed mom’s delimma, and she came up with a plan of action. Darcy’s guidance altered my mom’s recovery. Her concern and skillful guidance was so appreciated! We love this internist!!!”

The nurses and doctor were very good with our son even though he was pretty upset. They explained the treatment options and the pros and cons of the different options. After treatment, my son quickly improved and they monitored his breathing for a while before sending us home. We highly recommend the Kansas Medical Center for emergency situations.”
