“I have been sailing all my life (I'm 71) and Holiday Point is hands down the best all around marina I ever docked at. There's no swimming pool; no tiki hut; no overpriced bar and grill; and the bathrooms would gag Martha Stewart, although the ladies' one is probably better. But it has master carpenter and shipwright Joe, of Mast and Mallet, who does amazing restorations. And there is engine specialist Tom Gunther who re-powered my Bruce Roberts Offshore-44 among many hundreds of other boats. His brother, Keith, has a machine shop that could literally fabricate an engine from scrap. Keith specializes in props and could probably build one from a bucket of belt buckles. There is fiberglass artisan Mick, almost the last of a dying breed, who also does paint uncommonly well. Mechanic Kirk, ex-Navy, has been up to his elbows in countless engines and can fix any rigging or plumbing problem besides. In the office, Pat knows more about sailboat issues than anybody who has never owned one. Dockmaster Ron is cordial, knowledgeable, and always fair. No marina can be any better than the folks who run it, and you won't find a better or more competent bunch than these.”
