“Great place for a family gathering. Playground is great but requires a lot of supervision if kids are young. Lots of parking and trails nearby. Nice open field for kids to run on.”

“Lovely place for a hike. We parked near rock run mill and the archer house. From there, we took the purple --> red --> blue --> orange. This took a few hours. The beginning was strenuous especially if the creek is higher than normal. I would recommend wearing hiking shoes over sneakers. It's quite hilly and muddy after a rainstorm as it was on this day. A beautiful hike, nonetheless, and lets you see the river, fields, and plenty of trees. I can't wait to come back on a sunny day.”

“Great place to take your kids and family camping. Most spaces are nice and roomy, but some are also quite small and right on the loop road, so make sure to check about the site. 30 amp electric hookup, water spigots spaced throughout the loop. Our site could have some more gravel on it as it was nothing but mud when it rained, luckily we have a large outdoor rug, if not it would have been miserable. Park employees and DNR was frequently making their round making it safe for the kids to roam around the loop on their bikes. Camp store is very small and not well stocked, however this was mid-October so that may have been why. Highs store is close by though for those items left at home.... Overall a very nice campground, we will definitely be back”

“I love to come here and see the eagles. This is a magical place if you have never seen or heard a bald eagle in person. You can watch the eagles fish and even fight for food. Best times to go is November to December. Bring cameras and binoculars to make sure you capture the pure beauty of the birds.”

The second panel depicts family left at home.. The third panel depicts patriotism. The fourth panel depicts sacrifice.”

“Love it. It's a little diamond in the rough. I see very few people everytime I take my kids here. Has a playground area (one new and an old one) both are fully functional. Plus picnic tables and a little covered picnic area for bqq or parties. Set by the bay. So it may be a bit chilly now and then. Has a porta potty that's clean, stocked and ready to use.”

Address: 4228 Birch Ave, Abingdon, MD 21009, USA
“Absolutely loved this place!! The view right on the water was heavenly! Yes the tide comes in and raises the river but I did my research before we left home so I knew ahead of time. As far as the sites being small some are pretty tight but if you let the staff know when booking how big your camper AND tow vehicle are they will accommodate you. The staff are the nicest people and greet you every time you come into the store with a smile and cheery hello. We will most definitely be back!”
