The staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating - everyone from the gift shop cashier to the director. There are really good activities for kids and families and every weekend they have different events. My husband enjoys hiking there and using the farm as an access point for kayaking on the Potomac. Possibly the best thing about National Colonial Farm is that it is one of the best kept secrets in Southern Maryland. It's large, so even when there's plenty of people present, the atmosphere is still quiet and peaceful. Trust a local - avoid the hoards at Mt. Vernon and come to National Colonial Farm instead.”

“I only ate here for the breakfast, but it was worth it. The buffet changed a little every day, but there was quality there. There was enough variety there to keep the kids and adults happy. The staff was pleasant, and they were on the ball when you needed something. This is the best buy when it comes to breakfast at the hotel. The other breakfasts at the hotel were just as expensive and definitely not as tasty. This place was a bargain, comparatively speaking.”
