Holliday Nature Preserve

Address: 6935 N Hix Rd, Westland, MI 48185, USA

Park

“Buncha whiners on here. Of course you can’t bring an unruly pet in a nature preserve where it could disturb its wild, resident animals. I never park by the pavilion (there are like 5 sections to Holliday Park/Nature Preserve), so I never see the shady people in that lot. The trails are maintained as much they can be with budget cuts and volunteers. Anyone else notice bare footprints in the mud in late spring?”

Dynamite Park

Address: 3347 Josephine St, Wayne, MI 48184, USA

Park

“Well I used to live in Wayne and I remember a better Road they took you all the way down to the river in which people can park and recreate, and that was the late '70s all the way through the 80s. But I also appreciate the fact that they let Mother Nature grow back and it's not as affected my man's interference so in that regard I highly appreciate it a time out there and look forward to stopping in at the end in the future.”

Park

“Great little park in honor of my brother!”

John Stymelski Veteran's Park

Address: 14407 Stark Rd, Livonia, MI 48154, USA

Park

“There is a reason this park has limited reviews--it is off the beaten path. I spent my daughter's 5th birthday party here (during COVID). It was perfect. Barely anyone drove by. And there had to have been about 5-6 kids that visited during our 3 hour birthday marathon on a Saturday. I understand why the pavilion cost more than the other Livonia City Parks... They could power a concert. This park has electric hook ups that are included with the Pavilion rental. Plus this park has old school playground equipment and a modern day playscape. I recommend!”

Royal Oak Arboretum

Address: 920 W Windemere Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48073, USA

Park

“Cute park! If you go behind the Senior Center, there is a beautiful little wooded area with a walking path. We saw a deer, rabbits, chipmunks, and tons of birds, including woodpeckers. Very relaxing, and there's even a children's play area with structures.”

Soldier & Sailor’s Park

Address: 687 E Front St #583, Monroe, MI 48161, USA

Park

“Read the placard, it says the important things. Nice shady relaxing spots by the river, slow pace, not populated, good fishing, horseshoe pits(need a rake), and playground for the little one.”

Bunny Run Country Club

Address: 1171 S Long Lake Blvd, Orion Twp, MI 48362, USA

Park

“I love Bunny Run Country Club! It is a private beach for the people who live in Bunny Run (with yearly membership dues). It’s such a nice quiet little beach area. It’s the reason I’ve continued living on our crazy dirt roads for 15 years. Summers wouldn’t be the same without the BRCC.”

Wetzel State Recreation Area

Address: 27 Mile Rd, New Haven, MI 48048, USA

Park

“Been here several times. Easy to follow trail. Dogs are welcomed. Not the most scenic but you can find beauty there still.”

Eastpointe Spindler Park

Address: 19400 Stephens Rd, Eastpointe, MI 48021, USA

“It is the best park to jog in, I literally use it evert day of the year. I constantly watch them work on it.”

River Raisin Canoe Livery

Address: 1151 Plank Rd, Dundee, MI 48131, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Amazing fun time! Sites are primitive only but such an amazing hidden gem. Was a fun date weekend with just the hubs and I - we took their half day canoeing and a camping spot and enjoyed all of it. They have bathrooms. No showers though. But for a weekend it was good. (Brought shower wipes) there was a volley ball net. A huge grass area. A small playground. A picnic area. They rent canoes and kayaks either by the hour or half and day drop offs. They allow one dog per site. Great for kids too. If you have more than 4 people I'd suggest 2 sites next to each other”

Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center

Address: 4101 River Bends Dr, Shelby Township, MI 48317, USA

Park Local government office

“We visited this nature center for the first time and loved every single second! It is fantastic inside and out. The inside is filled with creatures to look at, art to make, books to read, activities for kids. Outside gives you sitting areas to enjoy the nature around you. Two different trail options and gorgeous scenery. The staff is also great, very welcoming and informational. We will definitely be back soon. Adding it to our list of favorite nature centers!”

North Clinton River Park

Pavilion Shore Park

Address: 43390 W 13 Mile Rd, Novi, MI 48377, USA

Park

“Nice little park, we stopped here after going to the Novi taco fest to relax and check out some of the scenery. I also brought my drone and was able to fly it and get some good videos of some of the beautiful views during the sunset. Was a little hard though from where we were to actually watch the full sunset due to some of the houses and trees.”

Masserants Feed & Grain

Address: 5609 E Dunbar Rd, Monroe, MI 48161, USA

Park Store

“I went into Massarants for products to clear my pool. I had been fighting silt algae since opening the it in May. Shane did testing on my pool water and gave me the chemicals to clear the water and get rid of the algae in the pool. He also put me on a list to bring a vacuum robot home to use for the day. I used it last night, and this morning my pool looks pristine. I’m so grateful for all the help. Massarants will get all my pool business from now on. Thank you again Shane.”

“I love going to this park! Can ride my bike or walk there easily. They ripped the splash pad out this summer (2022). I am not sure why. It broke my heart. I hope Canton puts a new one back in. 🥺”

Waterloo Park

Address: Frenchtown Charter Twp, MI 48161, USA

Park

“Very well kept and clean. Relaxing spot for a picnic.”

William C. Sterling State Park

Address: 2800 State Park Rd, Monroe, MI 48162, USA

Park

“The park is well maintained. The sites are mostly level and paved. There is good spacing around the sites and the parking pads are at an angle to the road making it very easy to back in. There are very few trees so you won't get any shade or protection from the wind. The park is directly next to the beach and trails connect to the day use section of the park and the rest of the trail system. The park is on the western shore of Lake Erie so the waves are minimal unless the wind is out of the East. Unlike many state parks there are some full hookup and 50 amp sites. Even on a hot day at pretty full occupancy there were no power issues.”
