“UPDATE: I raised the stars as I was now refunded my deposit and application fee, which is more than I asked for, although I do not know I they changed their policy for refunds upon choosing not to lease. Make sure you find out specifically what fees are non-refundable. Initial review: The staff who showed me the property were nice and informative. However, my plans changed after I had submitted my application and was unable to move there. I can understand them keeping the admin fee and the fee for the background check, but not refunding me the security deposit is just wrong. And senseless. I asked the person who showed me the property how one gets their security deposit back and her response was, "After a lease is up, we inspect the unit and if there's no damage, the security deposit is refunded." Me-"Well I didn't do any damage so can I have my security deposit back?" Her-"No. We can't do that." Highway robbery. Don't rent here. They also raised their rates significantly since the fall of 2021 and there is no rent control in Lake Elmo.”
