My wife is the Culinary Union's primary member, so we have our medical coverage through her union membership. The Culinary Health Fund does a fine job of supporting its members with medical coverage. That said, not being the affiliate member myself, I'm not entirely sure about their "entire" function, so I am reviewing it based strictly on the name "health fund."

The insurance or coverage itself is okay, nothing spectacular, but also nothing subpar either. When the Culinary Health Center opened its doors a few years ago at 650 N. Nellis Blvd., that's where I think the fund shines. If you choose the right medical practitioner(s) for yourself, this is pretty good health care overall. Maybe I've been lucky, but I feel that virtually all my medical needs have been met pretty well through the center.

Nowadays, it is incumbent upon you to make sure that you receive the care you need to get the most out of "any" health insurance, not just the Culinary Health Fund. Never sit back and "accept' everything said to you without questions if you don't understand or agree. Your questions will assure you of a better understanding of your medical situation.
