“Quiet and mostly vacant. This park is one of our favorites for just this reason. It really seems like it is past its heyday but still had everything we need our want in a campground”

“I really enjoy this park. There are several hiking/running/biking trails with the longest loop coming in around 8.5 miles. Most of the trails are wide and easy. Some are a little tough due to sand. My five year old loves the play ground and you can rent canoes. The little museum has a lot of info about wildlife and the history of the area. Fishing in the lake is pretty good if you go at the right time. Also, WEAR BUG SPRAY! The ticks are serious.”

“This is a nice little preserve with a short loop. Unlike other similar preserves, game management is done on specified days when the park is clearly marked off limits to other activities. This is a dog friendly park with little to do besides walk and look at nature (no playground, not many signs).”

“Dedicated a New Jersey Green Acres site in the late 90's. Township residents voted down a plan to build apartments and townhomes in this wooded area between Parkville Station Rd and the Greenfield Heights and Greenfields neighborhoods. The New Jersey Turnpike divides the two wooded areas. If you look closely at the map, you can see that Biscayne Blvd, Riviera Dr and Nasau Ave line up with all of the streets in Heather Ridge. Save the trees and our sanity with more of these areas in New Jersey. ????”

“Secluded and peaceful woods to find your Zen , the walk is good too, 2 miles round trip. As of today , there is a huge hornets/bees nest in a large tree on the right hand side just as you start into the wooded area after the short walk from parking area. You will HEAR them easily as I did and I walked back and forth a couple times before THEY came into view. I walked the other way back on the return, I didn't feel like pressing my luck with that horror.”

“The main trail is a loop of about 1.4 miles. Parts of it are rocky but overall it is not a difficult hike. There is a small stream that tbe trail crosses several times. A nice little hike. Quiet, scenic and convenient.”
