“The weekend before the NYC coronavirus shutdown, I took my friend Jérémie to Zerza while he was visiting town. As we sat upstairs savoring our lamb tagines, blissfully unaware of what was to come in the next few months, I mentioned that some of my friends had recently been on vacation to Morocco, but that they had gotten tired of eating only tagine on their trip. To which Jérémie just laughed and said that this was not possible. Three and a half months later, I can vouch for the accuracy of his statement. Thank you, Zerza, for staying open and feeding me through the entire coronavirus shutdown. Sometimes I was so stressed during that period that food had no taste, and I would only eat once a day. But when it feels like the whole world is ending outside, nothing can make it better like a great home-cooked tagine. I don't know what kind of crack they put in it that keeps me coming back, but this stuff is comfort food in the truest sense - it is a warm hug when social isolation renders actual human contact impossible. Five stars for the food (six for the duck confit), five stars for the music.”

“These animals are so well cared for and loved - It's evident in the animals behavior. If they can't live in the wild, as we consume the land, this is a great home for the orphans who have no place to go.”

“Great prices for all the fruits and vegetables you may need. Dominican owned so you can find all kinds of root vegetables like yuca, yautia, etc, in addition to a wide variety of Goya seasoning and other products. It’s also kinda hard to find loose jalapeños so I appreciate that they offer them here. They’re often sold in bundles that are too big. Located inside Essex market.”

“Amazing Japanese restaurant located near NYU Bobst library. I’ve been here twice and every time the food was amazing. One thing though, they only take cash during lunch (which I don’t really understand) so don’t forget about that. Amazing restaurant, I will definitely be visiting again soon.”

“Since I moved to Chelsea, Momoya has been on a major wait--they don't take reservations, and they stop takeout at 7pm, so it took some effort to get in, but I loved my meal there! The sushi was rich and melted in my mouth. The fish tasted fresh and the rice was on point. The prices are extremely fair and competitive for NYC. Momoya is on the trendier side with lounge-type of music and modern decor, but it's fine to dress casually. 10/10 would go back! Edit July 2018: I have now been to Momoya three times. I order something different every time and have loved every single dish. I’ve also come with different people, and each time, my guests are wowed!”

He takes his time to explain everything and is very personable. I would recommend anyone interested in getting a Maserati to go to there and ask for Daniel. He will get you in the wheels you want.”
