“Awesome campgrounds and super nice hosts! High atop the mountain with unbelievable views, this campground is definitely a hidden gem. Super clean port-a-potties were a plus... lots of nice hiking and biking trails. The town below is quaint and really fun to explore with lots of good food and antique shops. “The room was clean and spacious. The hotel itself seems clean and relatively modern. There's a computer room and a gym, both looked nice and well-kept. The only complaint was breakfast. We got there at 9 and although it supposedly ended at 10, there was (almost literally) no food left. Staff at the buffet told us they stopped refilling at 9, which seemed odd. There was a dining room full of people (Parent's weekend at Albany University) who were all disappointed. At 9:30, I decided to complain to someone else at the desk and a few minutes later, food started to be refilled.”

“Although it is an old building and still a Catholic guest house, everything has been fine so far. We slept there for a week. It's not for light sleepers as you can hear the street, but there are earplugs. There is a toilet and a washbasin with a mirror in the room. For showering you have to share a bathroom with other guests, but it can be locked. The breakfast is good for the price. The coffee tastes good, there are freshly scrambled eggs and as much juice as you want. The best part was that we could do our laundry in the basement so we didn't have to drive to a laundry center on the next block. The staff is manned by friendly, hard-working black employees at the front desk. An elderly black lady said to my friend that he ate the whole breakfast and that's why his belly is so fat, we took it with humor but were still shocked. The hotel clearly lives from its location, there is also a subway station just around the corner.”

“Absolutely love it, it’s such a cute and quaint hotel!! The owner is so kind and helpful, the rooms are cozy and comfortable, and there are no bugs or anything that would make the room “gross”. I could smell the detergent on the sheets so I know that they’re cleaned after use, and the owner even recommended us a place to have breakfast in the morning. Perfect stop for a great price. Stayed at a 4 star hotel and their beds weren’t nearly as comfortable as Chaffee’s🫶🫶”

“I have lived at The Selby since it opened in August 2022 with my husband and my dog and we could not be happier. The staff and residents are all incredible. We have great gym classes and other events here that bring us together as a community like Sip and Paints, Bingo and Trivia Nights. “Fabulous hostel! We loved our home away from home. Staff were so friendly, everything was super clean and the vibe was great. Plenty of hot water even though it took a while to come through, kitchen was well equiped and lounge area was lovely with TV, games and lots of books. We were on the top floor so there were a few stairs to climb but no drama for us. A bit noisy at times but that is to be expected in a hostel, most travellers were very polite. We stayed for 9 nights and overall thought it was great, especially the price for NYC.”

“We attended a work Christmas party here at this venue on Tuesday night. The place was decorated very beautifully for the holidays, which made that a nice entrance into the building. The Valet guys were very nice and the car was treated well. The party room we were in was a nice sized room, although the lights were a little too bright for the event. The food was a good selection of different types of dishes, buffet style. Bartender was very nice and helpful. our DJ was very good. The staff at the party were all pretty nice. Someone at the party dropped a glass and it broke and they cleaned it up very quickly and safely. And were very nice about it. The outside areas are very pretty with fireplaces and outside seating. All in all, it was a nice evening and was enjoyable.”

“Wonderful and peaceful experience at Catskill Mountain Lodge! Perfect escape from New York City while on a midwinter break from work. Staff are friendly and professional. A real family-like feel, and makes one feel right at home upon arrival. Cool lobby and cozy bonfire to warm you up during a cold night. Rooms were clean and spacious and cleaning service was top notch. Free bagels and coffees from 8-10am. And helpful locals can recommend ideal places to visit! A staff member, Brian, even curated a list of great places to eat for your convenience. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s new to Catskills, Hiking, or first time mountain goer! 👍”

“One of the best campgrounds I have ever been too. My wife and I stayed at the deluxe cabin and it was such a great experience. There are trails around for activities and Mayville is only 5 minutes away. It was in a great location. Everything was extremely clean and well kept. The only issue we had was with the futon, it was very uncomfortable. We ended up using the twin mattresses instead. Loved how there was a shower and toilet right inside, it made life so much easier. Would definitely stay here again.”

“What a great find! Me my husband and beagle Lucy stayed last night. Had the front room in the house. Terra and Matt talked with us a good while answering all our questions regarding this grand old home. In the morning many fresh organic choices were available. It was the first time preparing my breakfast at a b and b but loved the flexibility. Everything was there at our finger tips. Sunday night we walked down the street for dinner. If we are in Albany again, we know where we are staying. This was a real find!”

“We spent one night at the campground on our way to our final destination. We had a great site for our big rig. The campground is very nice with a beautiful lake. Lots of things to do for the kids. Beautiful pool. Clean restroom. The staff was very nice especially Stacy. We realized the next day we forgot an important piece of equipment for our RV. We contacted the campground to see if they could us. Stacy went above and beyond to help us retrieve our piece of equipment. It would have been very expensive to buy a replacement. Again you can feel campground family atmosphere. Again thank you to help us to solve our misadventure.”
