“I tremendously enjoyed the variety of the foods at Ahmed's Indian Restaurant, also know as "Spicy Mint". The dishes for the buffet were all so tastefully prepared. Also, an employee helpfully explained how to prepare a certain street food. Everything was delicious! Thank you so much! I highly recommend this restaurant.”

“Not bad. Overall food was great. I ordered the steak and eggs. Medium rare and over medium. Both were overdone but the eggs were redone to my liking the second time around. Oysters and cocktails were on point. Would definitely revisit. Beautiful setting surrounded by high end retail and yachts!”

“Great place for fine dining for either a special occasion or a work function in Albany. The atmosphere is nice, although it might be a little loud in the bar area. I ate with a work function in the dining room in the back which had a piano and a large table area which was apart from the rest if the dining room. It was perfect for a large group. The food was excellent, with an interesting mix of various genres that blended well together. It's a foodie's paradise! The service was excellent and more of what I expect from a fine dining establishment. Very attentive and friendly. Not a place for a quick bite, because it takes time, but to be honest, not being rushed is exactly what I want from a place like this (too often there is no time for conversation). Very highly recommended!”

“My go to Lunch spot when in the city. I’ve been coming here regularly since 2005 - I first discovered this food truck when I worked in New York. Back then it was a quick walk from my Park Ave. location at lunch time, rain or shine. There has always been a line of people at lunch time but service is quick and efficient. The menu have evolved since I started coming here and it’s fantastic offering. I’ve changed jobs a few times since then and even moved away, but the food truck is still there and serving absolutely delicious food. These days, anytime I’m in the city, I make sure to grab lunch here. It’s a quick walk from our current location on Broadway!!”

“They make their own dumplings and thats a huge win for me. Their bourbon chicken was the only star that didnt make the cut. It couldve been seasoned better. Overall definitely better than your average chinese take out place.”

“I've been searching for a great chinese take out for some time. Most are okay, but I was very happily surprised at the quality of the food from China House. This was our first time ordering take out from them. Everything was delicious, the portions were generous and we were very happy to find our new go-to chinese restaurant!”

“We had a great time here! Nice rink, even nicer water slide! The mini golf is a bit dated, but it was still fun. Staff were courteous and attentive. The prices were amazing!”

“Delicious Asian (American style) take-out. We needed a break from Italian and bar fare so tried Merry Land and wasn’t disappointed! Even at 10pm the food was cooked fresh to order and the staff very friendly. We ordered cold sesame noodles, butterfly bacon shrimp and crispy orange beef. Since our bill was over $42 we had a nice surprise of a complimentary choice of crab rangoon, dumplings or pork fried rice. Went with dumplings and my gosh, what a serving, 7 plump and juicy dumplings. All in all a tasty last vacation meal with leftovers for plane ride home!”

“I was in town and starving. I wanted some good food and not a chain. Found this gem and was so happy with the outcome. The wait which is a bit longer than usual is worth it once you taste your food. I chose the chicken kabob wrap. The chicken was very tender and savory. The sauce was delicious although next time I’ll ask for a bit less. Overall very fresh and amazing taste.”

“Overall this was a great experience! The chips and salsa were complimentary and tasty! The staff was friendly! The Birria tacos were delicious! The variety of individual tacos we ordered tasted great, and they definitely were not stingy on any meat filling. The only downside was the chicken enchilada plate - it lacked flavour (the enchiladas) and the sauce was a little sour. But overall, we would definitely go back!”

“It's rare to find a Jamaican spot that serves food with a smile and this place is rare indeed. Let me say the food is good too! They had all these authentic desserts and homemade drinks. I enjoyed everything about the store. Good customer service she was patient and let me try a sample of the "mannish soup" before I tried it. I would definitely advise anyone to come here for some real good Jamaican cuisine and service.”

“Everyone is telling you the same thing. Service is phenomenal. Food is very good. Not great. Desserts need a little help. Ambiance is as good as it can be for a "heimish" place. There are babies, children and people who never went to a restaurant in Manhattan. With that said, the place tries and it's worth your time. It isn't cheap though but you get what you pay for.”

“The last time I was here, they only offered takeouts. We ordered the Pad Thai, Chicken Wings, Fried Rice, Shumai, and Spring Rolls for lunch at Central Park. I could say that everything tasted super good and very authentic also we got the Iced Thai Tea – undoubtedly refreshing and not too sweet to my taste. Everyone should try this !!!”

“I can't count anymore how many times I have dined in at this place and ordered takeout. These are just some of the pictures I've taken. Everything's great! All the leaves and meat on every dish taste fresh, the sauces and broth are delicioues, and the service is superb!”

“Excellent pizza. Thin crust. Good coverage of cheese and sauce. Good flavor. Good size. Good price point at $3. Can't really find anything wrong with this one. A true 5 star rated slice. Give this one 98 out of 100 Update: had another slice on two different occasions. Still good, but both were drier. Needed something to drink with them. Probably switched to low-fat cheese. A mistake.”

“Very nice buffet. We showed up at 230 and I was worried the food was going to be warm and dried out. I was wrong. Everything was fresh and hot. Great job. Definitely will be going back.”

“Amazing authentic food made fresh. I'm not really a guacamole person but this place makes me a fan of theirs! I recommend the platter for those that may not be sure what they wish to try, you'll definitely want to return and try more of everything...if there were more stars I'd add them as well!”

“This place deserves a 10 star. AMAZING food, perfectly cooked meats, balanced flavors for all three courses. Outstanding pricing for such good food ($59 for three course dinner!). Waiters/students are so adorable, their diligence is reflected with the service we got today. I'd like to shout out especially to the main courses. We ordered the maple leaf duck breast, beef short ribs, and market fish. The meats were cooked to such perfection, it was astounding that students made them (well, of course under the instructions of a well known chef, but still surprising). The temperature spread across the meat, the tenderness, the timing, all resulted in meats that were neither overcooked nor undercooked, not even slightly. Flavors were also on point, and there's always something on the plate to counterbalance the main flavor (for example, the sourness of the veggies complements the sweet and savory duck so well). Just wow. And can we talk about how adorable the waiters/waitresses are (all are supposedly CIA students, so around 18-22 years old?). Some of their actions are slower and feel more inexperienced than the typically older waitresses at high end restaurants, but the way they gently put down the plates/ sets the bread, and how a waiter confused the direction of the utensils and then briskly walked back to reset them, add such satisfactory details to this dining experience. It's cool to not just eat and enjoy, but witness the students LEARN through cooking and serving each customer.”

“I just happened to be in this corner of Brooklyn for a customer meeting and had a hankering for some Caribbean food. This place exceeded my expectations. The food was excellent! Curry goat was flavorful and spicy, rice and peas perfect, plantains amazing and the pickled cabbage wonderful. Excellent price point for no frills take-out. Staff was warm and friendly with the Caribbean hospitality I would expect. This is definitely a new favorite when I pass through the neighborhood.”

“My friend and I went to Talia’s for the kosher Haitian popup back in July. My friend keeps kosher but was also vegan, so we were looking for things to order that we would both want. We ended up with the classic stew, I got the meat version and she got the vegan. I tried hers and it tasted EXACTLY the same. You’d think that means they did such an excellent job replicating the meat flavors, but to us it felt more like the meat was an afterthought in the stew. They say they bring in chefs from these cultural backgrounds (Haitian chef was Haitian, their Indian popups have been Indian chefs) but to me it felt like they must’ve told her the audience can’t handle the full flavor of her food 🫣 I felt bad, as I’m sure she’s a great chef, but the food we tried didn’t have any strong flavors, and certainly none that stood out as unique to us. Our expectations were sky high as we both travel a lot and I eat dairy out, so we weren’t sure what we were expecting… I just think we were hoping for more brightness and shock value than this. In NYC, you can try an authentic dish on almost every street corner from a part of the globe you may have never heard of, but it’s the best thing you’ve ever had. Here, the food was fine and unassuming, but did not blow us away with any incredible flavors. I want to keep coming back to popups but please allow the chefs full creative control of their meals! We like Talia’s and I do not want this fi be seen as a negative review, but I would love for them to prove to us that their popups can be truly authentic. :) (This same friend stopped being vegan and went to the Indian popup more recently and reported a similar experience).”
