Great record shop with a wide variety of both new and used vinyls in every genre. Highly recommend! Parking is free in Downtown Durham on the weekend as well, so it's fairly easy to access.
This place is a vortex of magic. Recommend by a friends who I was in the process of buying a bag of plastic fruit for as a gag. As I am forgetful thanks to my self medication regiment, the silly joke slipped my mind by the time I made it to this oasis of sonic tribute. As soon as I enter the comfortable interior, a friendly greet meets me followed by a very much appreciated offer of any help if needed. I felt relaxed and free to explore the environs of the gloriously well organized and aesthetically tactful rows of audio treasure…but before I could ever begin to scratch beneath the surface of the shiny potential before my astonished eyes, my ears were delightfully charmed and I took notice of the sound that filled me with the urge to dance. I ask the absolutely beautiful man overseen the sprawling majesty this dream lab “whoa, who is this?” (Playing) “this is fake fruit.” He said warmly. My mind was blown. Long story short, this is currently my favorite album. This place is amazing and should be adored as a national treasure!!! Thank you!!!! I would get infinite stars if I could 🕉🕉🕉🕉
Chaz and his store are the best. No snobby clerks here. Shop online for new records. When you come to pick them up in-store check out the top notch well curated selection of used vinyl.
Bull City Records is a legendary record store and a Durham institution. Whether it's been for a live in-store performance, picking up a new record, popping through on a Record Store Day, or just chatting with Chaz, it's a high-quality shop with high-quality merchandise, and high-quality personnel.
It's a home away from home. I can't count the good memories I associate with Chaz, with the shop, and with the customer experience at Bull City Records. The online shop is also great - regularly updated, easy to make purchases, and easy to mark a purchase for delivery or pick up. As someone who often wants to buy something now, but is also very chatty, I almost always buy online and do pickup in store.
Looking to pick up some vinyl records in Durham, North Carolina? Look no further than BCR. Highest marks from me.
This is a great place for finding new vinyls. There was a large selection and easy to navigate. While there are some used, I wouldn't say that was the emphasis on this place.I Thener was super friendly and nice and offered assistance with finding anything he didn't already have in stock.
