“Originally called Pope's in my childhood but it was sold then re-named it Billy's Mart but basically same little last stop, country rural gas station. I grew upon the side of town this little, country store is located. Far, rural east Durham toward Falls Lake is where everybody gets gas, cigarettes, sodas, beer, bread, chips, snacks, their morning coffee, fishing tackle, that one ingredient like baking soda or eggs you ran out of and get, or a cool drink when riding your bike. Sells diesel and kerosene, propane exchange, air pump, free parking and wheelchair accessible. Growing up I knew it as Popes, has exchanged hands over many times but it's still the neighbor stop and shop. DOES NOT STAY OPEN UNTIL 11pm on SUNDAY!! Uggh”
