“This eye-catching centerpiece of Logan Square was built in 1924 and named after Wilson Cary Swann, the father of the Philadelphia Fountain Society (who knew such an organization existed?) Strictly no swimming.”

“Amazing park for all kinds of dogs! There’s two fences off areas, one for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs. It has AstroTurf so dogs can run around and play without the worry of dirt and mud. They have water fountains and bowls for dogs to drink from so you don’t have to worry about bringing water. Overall I’d say one of the best parks to take your dog to in Philly”

“Absolutely beautiful. My boyfriend and I took our kids there and the kids enjoyed the water and fountains. Of only love park was still the same.”

“Here are two areas one for large and one for small dogs I tend to stay in the small dog area. Sorry huge dog brawls in the big dog area”

“I have 2 dogs that love to run around. Living in the city can make that challenging especially since they have a high prey drive. I searched Philadelphia for some well known dog parks and came across the Schuykill River Dog Park. They have 2 fenced in areas, one for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs. Both are very accommodating and typically have a fair amount of dog owners there. It’s also a public park so it’s free to use and even have dog bowls and a spigot for filling them. Both of my dogs are able to get plenty of play time and run time.”

“We went to the E.A.G L.E.S. parade and it was wonderful. The park is big. Didn't get to run up the Rocky steps because it was blocked off, but we will next time. Can't wait to go back. Exciting.”

“Great Turf Dog Park! My dog loves it here! Small dog pools in the summer are great. The bridge overlooking it is also great for humans who want to watch!”

“Love ???? the fact that the playing apparatus is under trees. I like that I don't have to worry about their skin and the sun. It has two areas, one for the medium sized kids (roughly 3 and up) and one for little tykes (3 and under). There is a dog park nearby that can be viewed from the ground or the ramp leading to the river walkway. The kids found this just as exciting as the playground.???????? Major breakdowns when it was time to leave. ????”

“Nice little park behind the Art Museum. I hiked it right after visiting the museum and saw the famous water work”

“This is a lovely park! However, NOT AT ALL DOG FRIENDLY!!! Many signs directing people to keep dogs "off the grass for the health and safety of children." Should you ignore the signs, one of the many parents playing with their kids will tell you to "take your dog to the dog park a few blocks away." I've lived in the neighborhood for 14 years, with my dog(s), don't bother doing anything with your dog but sitting quietly on a bench or strolling through, no one minds either of those. Again, lovely place, just not for your dog to romp.”

“Transformation of Logan Square is coming along quite nicely. Shakespeare Park is across the street from the library. Another great gathering area with ample sittings and just enough lawn to regulate the temperature of the park.”
