“This is a small public park maintained by dedicated volunteers. It has a wide variety of plants and there's always something blooming. Free concerts in summer, a little library, and shady benches make it a popular spot”

“Is a safe place for the community. The kids can play at the playground, play basketball on the courts and there is an open field where ppl can play with their pets. Sometimes I sit on a bench & count the trains rolling by. Often times ppl rent out the recreation center for practices, zumba classes, birthday parties, baby showers and family functions. In the summer there's a pool & affordable summer camp for kids up to the age of 12. I am Excited 2go here to cast my VOTE or enjoy any other community event presented!! I love my neighborhood and the Rec cntr refects that. I am praying for a computer lab and afterschool program as well.”

“I have 2 dogs that love to run around. Living in the city can make that challenging especially since they have a high prey drive. I searched Philadelphia for some well known dog parks and came across the Schuykill River Dog Park. They have 2 fenced in areas, one for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs. Both are very accommodating and typically have a fair amount of dog owners there. It’s also a public park so it’s free to use and even have dog bowls and a spigot for filling them. Both of my dogs are able to get plenty of play time and run time.”

“A green oasis in the heart of South Philly! This community garden, formerly a patch of unused mown grass next to the Neumann- Goretti convents, is divided into landscaped communal areas and plots where neighbors grow vegetables, flowers and herbs. The Garden also includes plots where produce is grown for those in need.”

“We went to the E.A.G L.E.S. parade and it was wonderful. The park is big. Didn't get to run up the Rocky steps because it was blocked off, but we will next time. Can't wait to go back. Exciting.”

“Ellen Phillips Samuel Memorial , North Terrace is one of three terraces located between Schuylkill River and Kelly Drive. All three terraces are dotted with numerous statues representing various occupations. At the North Terrace, there are statues representing scientist, architect, laborer, and a preacher. All three terraces are well maintained by volunteers and the Fairmount Park Commission.”

“This is where I eat lunch when it's nice out, and the Navy Yard does a great job of keeping it nice. The trees are getting taller so they provide nice shade when it's sunny. Tables and chairs are super heavy so they stay pretty stationary; not a lot of moving around by guys who frequent the park. The one detractor is the landscaping on the east side - not really sure what they're going for with the overgrown look. Other than that, it's nice there! I like it here better then Central Green because it's not as crowded.”

“Nice area with wild grass and a few trails to walk your dog on. There's a nice half hour loop around the Thomas mansion. You pick the trail up from the field down the hill to the left.”

“One of the reasons I moved to Philly is Fairmount Park. East Fairmount Park is among the most beautiful Urban park areas there is, bar none. Truly the city's outdoor gem, there's plenty to do amid the splendid landscape. Whether you wish to lounge in a hammock or go for a brisk run, there's a spot for you to enjoy the parks awesomeness. Or maybe you like tennis, or frisbee golf, or biking, or riding horses. Again, tons to do! And so very scenic, especially in autumn with the light.”
